Jaimez-Ruiz has made 18 appearances for the Shots this season
Aldershot goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz has expressed his delight at being named the club's player of the month for October.
And the 25-year-old Venezuelan has continued his good form for the Shots by keeping three straight clean sheets
He told BBC Surrey: "I'm very surprised with the award but just happy with the form I've been having this season.
"Realising others have seen that I have improved is encouraging because I want to keep improving."
He added: "That's all I want to keep doing why I'm playing."
Jaimez-Ruiz, whose impressive form between the sticks has played a part in Aldershot climbing into the top 10 in League Two, paid tribute to his goalkeeping coach Paul Priddy.
"There's nobody else I probably need to mention than Paul Priddy for how he's been pushing me to always reach a good standard," he said.
"Nikki Bull has left a huge standard to fill and just to see him, and also work with Paul Priddy, has helped me to become a better player."
