Faroe Islands 0-2 Scotland
At the end of a gruelling season, Scotland grind out a first win in three visits to Toftir, and briefly move back to the top of the 'group of death' once again.

The goals come from Shaun Maloney and Garry O'Connor but the Scots are fortunate as the Faroes twice hit the woodwork.

After their matches, France reclaim the group's top spot, Italy are second two points behind. Scotland are a point further back in third.

It is a superb achievement for Scotland. And while football shuts down for two months, the minds of Scottish fans will not as they continue to throb with optimism.
