Arsenal/Man Utd player ratings | | Marks out of 10 for Arsenal and Manchester United in the FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium. Arsenal Jens Lehmann - 8: (STAR MAN) Superb. Made several world-class saves to deny Wayne Rooney. Arsenal's most impressive player by some distance. Lauren - 4: Looked to push forward as often as possible but spent most of the match chasing after Cristiano Ronaldo. A difficult afternoon.
Ashley Cole - 5: Had to be careful after an early booking. Few forays forward and one awful cross capped off a disappointing week.
Philippe Senderos - 7: A solid display. Made several big tackles and kept a close eye on Ruud van Nistelrooy. Justified his selection.
Kolo Toure - 6: A solid figure. A brilliant near-post tackle to deny Wayne Rooney epitomised his determination and will to succeed.
Patrick Vieira - 6: Started well, breaking up play and driving Arsenal forward, but could do little to stop United dominating in midfield.
Gilberto Silva - 5: Steady influence in the middle of the park. Good defensive work, providing cover in defence but could have been involved more.
Robert Pires - 6: In and out of the game. Impressed with some runs but volleyed way over with one of Arsenal's few decent openings. Cesc Fabregas - 5: Struggled to assert himself. Should have supported Lauren more, but came out the better of one bruising challenge with Roy Keane.
Jose Antonio Reyes - 6: Impressed only intermittently. Isolated out wide far too often and sent-off in the final seconds of extra-time.
Dennis Bergkamp - 4: Frustrating afternoon. All alone up front, unable to bring others into the game in the way he does so well.
Substitutes Freddie Ljungberg (Replaced Bergkamp, 65 minutes) - 7: Made an unbelievable headed clearance off the line to deny Ruud van Nistelrooy late on.
Robin van Persie (Replaced Fabregas, 86 minutes) - 7: Almost broke the deadlock with a superb free-kick in extra-time and stuck his penalty away brilliantly.
Edu (Replaced Pires, 105 minutes): Not on long enough to make an impact.
Manchester United Roy Carroll - 6: Rashly raced out of his box early on but was not tested until saving well from Robin van Persie's free-kick.
Wes Brown - 5: Looked edgy at the start with some mis-timed tackles but gradually improved as the game wore on. John O'Shea - 5: Like Brown, he was a touch uncomfortable out of position at left-back and never really settled before being taken off. Mikael Silvestre - 5: Booked for a late tackle in the first half and never at his best, though Arsenal rarely stretched him. Rio Ferdinand - 6: Unlucky to see his early effort ruled out, but did his defensive job well and mopped up when required.
Roy Keane - 7: Showed glimpses of the old box-to-box Keane, won his battle with Patrick Vieira and set the tone as captain.
Paul Scholes - 6: Saw plenty of the ball and sprayed his passes around but not as effective as his colleagues Keane and Fletcher and a costly miss in the shoot-out.
Darren Fletcher - 7: Picked ahead of Ryan Giggs and came of age, a tenacious display before being withdrawn after 90 minutes.
Cristiano Ronaldo - 7: Beat Lauren time and time again down the United left, he gave the Cameroonian a torrid afternoon and put in some fabulous crosses.
Wayne Rooney - 8: Quiet start but soon stamped his mark on the game as he ran tirelessly at the Arsenal back four and went close with several fierce shots.
Ruud van Nistelrooy - 6: Still not at his match-fit best, nearly grabbed a winner as his header was cleared off the goalline but then missed a sitter. SubstitutesQuinton Fortune (Replaced O'Shea, 77 minutes) - 6: Looked comfortable at left-back and got forward as United attacked.
Ryan Giggs (Replaced Fletcher, 91 minutes) - 6: A couple of trademark runs from the Welshman but made little impact.
