Leaders Real Sociedad suffered a setback when they could only draw 0-0 with a revitalised Espanyol on Sunday.

Espanyol have lost just once since former Spain and Sociedad coach Javier Clemente took over before Christmas.

Sociedad are now just two points ahead of European champions Real Madrid, who came from a goal down before defeating Real Betis 4-1 on Saturday.

Fernando put Betis ahead in the 37th minute following some dazzling wing play from Denilson.
