Telford United climbed to second in Blue Square North after extending their unbeaten run to eight games with a hard-fought win at Solihull.

Alex Meechan hit the only goal of the game from close range on 19 minutes.

He tapped in after a nod down from following good work from fellow striker Andy Brown.

Telford's sixth win of the season owed much to the goalkeeping of Ryan Young, who produced some fine saves to deny the home side an equaliser.

Telford are on their travels next Saturday when they head for seventh-placed Corby.

Telford United manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"If you're not at your best, but get a win, you have to say well done.

"We dust ourselves down, but know that we have to be a little bit better."
