| AFC Telford United were beaten by Chester City in their opening pre-season friendly at New Bucks Head. A Gary Fitzpatrick own-goal gave Chester a first-minute lead and two goals in nine minutes from Simon Yeo put the visitors three goals clear. Luke Reynolds and Justin Marsden hit back for the Bucks but Yeo completed his hat-trick on 55 minutes. John Murphy made it 5-2 16 minutes later and Matty Lewis hit a consolation goal for Telford a minute from time.
