1844: Nomvete hits the post from an area where many were expecting him to cross, and Fahoumi, who was yards from goal, is relieved to see the ball rebound behind for a goal kick.

1836: Nhleko gets his first chance of the game as, teed up by Thabang Molefe, he fires in a low strike which Fahoumi blocks and Mayo's header from the rebound lacks power as it falls into the Moroccan keeper's arms.
1835: The game seems destined to end in a draw, with neither side getting behind their opponents' defence nor making any chances.
1830: Talal El Karkouri injures himself as he clears a South African knock-down which seemed to be dropping to Patrick Mayo.
1828: Morocco cause problems down the left flank, but fail to get the cross in. The Atlas Lions are lucky to win a free-kick 30 yards from goal.
1827: Aaron Mokoena catches himself as he puts a deep pass into the South Africa half out of play. He goes off for a treatment as the game enters an untidy period.
1823: Zairi swings in a cross from the right-hand corner of the South Africa penalty area which Hadji misses, leaving Winstanley to almost score an own goal at the back post after he inadvertently chests the ball inches wide of goal. From the corner, Hadji is adjudged to have fouled Arendse as the pair contest a high ball into the 6-yard box.
1822: South Africa almost break down the Moroccan defence but Zuma is offside as it looks as though he is going to be set free on the edge of the Atlas Lions' area.
1819: Phumo makes the first change of the match as Delron Buckley, who , is replaced by Nkosinathi Nhleko.
1817: Mokhtari volleys Zairi's deep cross over from near the penalty spot, but the chance was difficult despite the left-footer being unmarked as he surged into the area.
1812: South Africa coach April 'Styles' Phumo urges his team on from the bench.
1809: South Africa's Sibusiso Zuma controls a long pass beautifully just outside the Moroccan area, but is felled by Kharja. Kharja is booked for the tackle. Buckley's attempt to flight the ball into the goal from 25 yards out fails to beat the Atlas Lions' wall.
1806: Zairi is unlucky not to win a free-kick near the South Africa by-line after Jacob Lekgetho appears to foul him.

1803: Morocco get the second half underway.
1747: The referee blows for half-time. South Africa have failed to create one goalscoring opportunity since their goal, while Morocco, who only drew level late in the half, have had most of the game's good chances.
1745: The fourth offical signals two minutes of added time.
1742: Both teams are involved in a mild contre-temps near the halfway line, after Tehebo Mokoena clashes with Hadji and the Moroccan reacts. Hadji is backed for backing into Mokoena after the challenge. Mokoena receives treatment on the sidelines.

Youssef Safri calmly dispatches the penalty, beating Arendse, who dived the right way, low to his right-hand side. Red flares light up the stadium as the Moroccan fans celebrate.
1736: Morocco win a penalty after South African defender Neil Winstanley brings Zairi down in the box.
1733: Morocco defender Talal El Karkouri fires a blistering free-kick straight into the wall some 30 yards from goal.
1732: Zairi heads against the corner of bar and goal from Mokhtari's free-kick on the right-hand side of South Africa's penalty area.

Morocco concede their first goal of the tournament as keeper Khalid Fouhami makes a basic error in trying to collect Nomvete's cross and gifts the ball to striker Patrick Mayo who volleys home from 6 yards into an empty net.
1728: Safri comes back onto the pitch.
1727: Morocco win a corner, which is narrowly deflected past the post for another corner to the Atlas Lions.
1725: Youssef Safri goes down under a reckless challenge from South Africa's Delron Buckley whose studs go into the Moroccan's chest as both players challenge for the ball. Play is held up as Safri goes off the pitch. Buckley is surprisingly not shown a yellow card for his mistimed tackle.
1722: Hadji is found by a fine pass from Regragui but as the right-flank opens up for the Moroccan forward, Hadji inadvertently knocks the ball out of play and a promising opening is denied the Atlas Lions.
1718: Zairi almost opens the scoring with the best chance of the game so far as Youssef Safri finds him unmarked on the left-hand side of the penalty area, but the striker's side-footed strike from twelve yards out is well blocked by Arendse and deflected off the keeper for a corner. Mokhtari's corner goes straight to Arendse.
1716: Morocco's Houcine Kharja fires over from a short free-kick tapped to him on the edge of the South African penalty area.
1715: Morocco immediately go up the other end to win a corner of their own. Youssef Mokhtari's delivery is put behind for another corner, from which Mokhtari whips in an incisive cross which Zairi heads over on the edge of the 6-yard box.
1714: South Africa win the first corner of the match but Atlas Lions keeper Khalid Fahoumi gathers well.
1710: Morocco's Youssef Hadji wastes a good opportunity on the left-hand corner of the South African area as his cross-cum-shot goes between his strike partner Jaouad Zairi and Bafana Bafana keeper Andre Arendse.
1709: South Africa look bright in the first exchanges, clearly prepared to take the game to Morocco as they search the four-goal margin of victory that will take them through.

Morocco make two changes to the team that beat Benin 4-0.
Youssef Hadji gets his first start of the tournament while Youssef Mokhtari, who started against Nigeria but not against Benin, comes back in for Mohamed Yaccoubi.
There is no change at the back, where the Moroccan defence has yet to concede a goal.
South Africa make three changes to the side that were trounced 4-0 by Nigeria.
Andre Arendse replaces the injured Emile Baron in goal, while Neil Winstanley comes into the side to play in the centre of defence.
Mabizela moves to midfield, Benson Mhlongo drops out because of injury while Tebeho Mokoena replaces veteran John Mosheou in a straight swap.
