FC Kallon, formerly Real Republicans, changed its name in 2000 holding discussions with the player about a buy-out. But only now has the deal been finalised. Speaking to BBC Sport Online, Team Manager Unisa Bangura said they had agreed a price of $30,000, and Kallon would pay the money in cash. The striker is due to arrive in Freetown to play for the national side against Equatorial Guinea in a Nations Cup qualifier on September 8. The club had earlier given Kallon a 21-day ultimatum to pay $50,000 plus football equipment to buy the club. "We decided to reduce the amount. We know this time round he really means business and I think we need to be reasonable," Bangura said. FC Kallon have changed their name a number of times in recent years as they have swapped sponsors. | See also: 23 Jul 02 | Africa 24 Jun 02 | Africa 14 Aug 02 | Africans abroad Top Africa stories now: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
