Ganguly again played an influential role with bat and ball

Ganguly's man-of-the-match display of 59 and 2-26 helped his side to a 38-run win at Headingley on Sunday to leave them 3-2 down with two to play.

"The wicket did seam around a bit and it helped my sort of bowling," he said.

Looking ahead to matches on Wednesday and Saturday, the former skipper said: "If we play one more good game at The Oval, Lord's will be anybody's."

Ganguly was pleased to reduce India's deficit in the series after rain ended the match at Headingley with England still retaining faint hopes of a famous rearguard victory.

"It was a lightning quick outfield and the ball was getting wet which wasn't helping so it was good to be on the winning side," he said.

Ganguly was quick to praise England captain Paul Collingwood, who kept his team in contention with a superb unbeaten 91 before rain ended proceedings.

"He played very well, it's early days for him as captain but he's doing well," Ganguly said.

The former skipper admitted it was a crushing blow to lose the fourth match of the series, when Ravi Bopara and Stuart Broad shared a record unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 99 to inspire an England victory.

"We lost a game we should have won but a lot of teams have won three games in a row, we have done it before and hopefully we can do it again," he said.
