Dravid hit his 81st ODI fifty at Edgbaston |
India skipper Rahul Dravid said his side could still win the one-day series with England despite going 2-1 behind with four games to play. "We've got the squad to beat England but we'll have to play much smarter," said Dravid, whose side were beaten by 42 runs at Edgbaston on Monday.
"We were chasing well until we lost a couple of wickets in the middle and we didn't have the firepower lower down.
"We shouldn't have given them 281 and didn't bowl and field well," he added.
Dravid, just as he did after the first game at The Rose Bowl when India lost by 104 runs, defended his decision to put England into bat having won the toss.

"I don't think I called the toss wrong, it was a good wicket right through and if there was going to be anything it was going to be there in the morning," said Dravid, who admitted a lack of a genuine all-rounder and substandard fielding was proving problematic. "We're not going to become a brilliant fielding side overnight and we have to work with the squad that we have.
"[Not having a genuine all-rounder] is an issue for us and probably hurts us quite badly in one-day cricket.
"But you've got to work with the players that you have and try to find the best combination."
