England captain Michael Vaughan hailed his heroes and applauded the "tremendous summer" which saw them win seven Tests on the trot. England sealed their second whitewash of the summer with a 10-wicket win over the West Indies at The Oval.
A delighted Vaughan said: "To get 20 wickets at each of the Test match grounds is fantastic.
"We will celebrate in the proper manner. It will not sink in for a few days what we have done."
England needed to score just one run to seal a 4-0 series win on Saturday after dismissing West Indies for 318 in their second innings.
And Vaughan praised his team's all-round effort.
He said: "We have played good cricket, but it has been hard work.
"It has been a real team effort. We have seen new guys come in and play well.
"Every single player in the dressing room has played a huge part in our success."
The Yorkshire star was modest about his achievements as captain.
"I am pretty fortunate," he added.
"I have a very good set of players here and I am just one who leads them out into the middle.
"We are getting the rewards for our hard work."
Steve Harmison came back into form in the final two Tests of the series, and recorded match figures of 9-121 at The Oval.
He said: "From the second innings at Old Trafford, things started to come back.
"I've had a pretty poor series overall but I've still taken 17 wickets so I'm pretty pleased with that."
And the Durham paceman said the team was gelling well as a unit.
"The fielding's been great all summer and the catching brilliant, with some out of the top drawer in this match, " he added.
