Parry has been a Twenty20 regular for Lancashire this season

Lancashire skipper Glen Chapple has heaped praise on Stephen Parry for his bowling displays in the Twenty20 Cup.

The spinner was the top Lancashire bowler in this week's defeat at home to Leicester taking 2-21 from four overs.

"Stephen Parry has been terrific in the Twenty20 form of the game for us," Chapple told BBC Radio Manchester.

"At Liverpool the other day, for a young spinner on such a small ground, I think his figures were 22 runs off his four overs, that's a terrific effort."

Chapple added: "Obviously, we'd won six out of six prior to the Leicester defeat and, as can happen in Twenty20, we came unstuck with the bat.

"We were reasonably surprised by the Leicester total and we thought we'd bowled really well so it was just disappointing we didn't get the runs."
