 | This World Cup has been a wonderful experience for us Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar |
Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar was left to rue another batting collapse as they finished their World Cup campaign with a 99-run defeat by West Indies. "The bowlers did a pretty good job, but again we didn't bat well," he said.
"West Indies played pretty well and kept wickets in hand, but I still thought 230 was a total we could chase.
"But hopefully we can learn from this for the future. We've had good days and bad days, but this World Cup has been a wonderful experience for us."
Bangladesh caused one of the shocks of the tournament by beating India and taking their place in the Super 8 phase.
Their victory over semi-finalists South Africa in Guyana was also a highlight for the Tigers - but their defeats, including one by Ireland, mean that Bashar knows there is still much room for improvement.
He added: "We hope that the experience we've gained from this will help us in our next series.
"I think we're playing the right way, but we need to be more consistent."
