Brian Lara says West Indies will treat Friday's game with Ireland as if it was a second-round game, now they have qualified for the Super 8 phase. "We want points to get through to the semi-finals, and that starts against Ireland," the Windies skipper said.
"The guys bowled well although maybe we needed to cut down on the wides, but they know where the problems are.
"Chasing the game is always calculated - we started pretty well but lost wickets so we had to consolidate."
He added: "There's a lot of room for improvement, but if we keep improving game by game, I'm pretty happy."
Opener Chris Gayle was also thrilled to qualify for the second phase after he smashed three huge sixes in his total of 40.
"I think one of them was the biggest six I've ever hit - it went a long way," the Jamaican said. "We're playing as a unit and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.

"But Ireland are on a high, so we're not going to take them for granted - hopefully we can carry on where we left off in this game."
And Windies coach Bennett King agreed that he would not allow his side to take Ireland's challenge lightly in their last group game.
"The win over Zimbabwe was scrappy but I am glad that we fought it out," he said. "It was the kind of track where it was going to take time for people to get in and we did pretty well at that.
"Now we must approach the Ireland game as though it is a Super Eights match.
"The important thing is to go through as winners of the group and take the two points against Ireland with us."
