India skipper Rahul Dravid defended his choice to bat first in his side's five-wicket defeat to Bangladesh in Trinidad on Saturday. The loss means India could now struggle to qualify for the Super 8 phase.
"It was a tricky one, we could have batted better, but it was probably a good toss to lose," said Dravid.
"It did a bit more than everyone expected, for a bit longer, but we had the quality in the batting and we should have played a lot better."

India play Bermuda on Monday before their must-win Group B clash with Sri Lanka next Friday.
Even if they were to win that match, they would also have to improve their run rate over both of their next two matches to avoid elimination.
Dravid added: "We know what we have to do, it is pretty clear for us. We have got our backs to the wall and we have got to fight really hard.
"They bowled well they got some wickets early. The spinners bowled particularly well, they kept it really tight and didn't let us consolidate.
"We also lost a few wickets towards the end, which was disappointing, and would have been the difference between another 25-30 runs.
"Forty runs would have given us a better chance. But I thought the boys came out and tried quite hard.
"But credit to [Bangladesh], they came and played some shots. Their opener [17-year-old Tamim Iqbal] got off to a very good start, and that set them up well."
