Michael Kasprowicz was thrilled by his haul of 7-39 as Sri Lanka fell to a 149-run defeat at the hands of Australia in the first Test in Darwin. Veteran seamer Kasprowicz, playing only his 21st Test, said: "Getting a chance to play again for Australia is something special for me.
"There's a lot of great cricketers in the Australian first-class scene.
"Having played before and tasted it I was pretty keen to get back. Hopefully I can cement my spot."
Kasprowicz, whose Test-best is 7-36 against England at The Oval in 1997, finished on a high with the wickets of Nuwan Zoyza and Lasith Malinga off consecutive balls to clinch victory.
Fellow paceman Glenn McGrath was named man-of-the-match for his 5-37 off 15 overs to help rout Sri Lanka for 97 in their first innings and hand Australia a match-winning 110-run lead. The drop-in pitch used in the Northern Territory capital city came in for stern criticism with the match finishing inside three days.
"It's probably obvious if a Test finishes like that with the quality of batsmen in both teams it's probably not up Test standard," Australia skipper Adam Gilchrist said.
