Zimbabwe comfortably beat Sri Lanka by four wickets to reach the final of the Sharjah Cup.

Having won two of their three matches, Zimbabwe will face unbeaten Pakistan in Thursday's final.

Skipper Heath Streak and Andy Blignaut shared six wickets to skittle out Sri Lanka for 193 and Grant Flower's unbeaten 61 meant Zimbabwe achieved victory with eight balls to spare.

Their innings was not without setback - Craig Wishart departed for just 14 but Douglas Marrilier, with 32 and Gavin Rennie's 26 helped stabilise the Zimbabwe side.

After their departure, it was left to Flower to ease Zimbabwe to the winning post, with valuable assistance from Tatenda Taibu.

Sri Lanka threatened to halt a Zimbabwe cruise by taking three wickets in quick succession with the addition of only nine runs.

Taibu (31) fell to Kumar Dharmasena while off spinner Kaushal Lakuarachchi quickly got rid of Sean Ervine and Dion Ebrahim to reduce Zimbabwe to 167 for six.

But man-of-the-match Flower held firm to make sure the winning runs arrived with time to spare.

Streak, who hit the winning runs, remained unbeaten on 19.

Sri Lanka, pre-tournament favourites, had blown their chances of reaching the finals after posting a disappointing total.

Zimbabwe captain Streak set the tone clean-bowling Sanath Jayasuriya, making his 300th one-day appearance and possibly his last as captain, in the first over for a duck.

And with the rest of the attack maintaining a tight line and length, several of Sri Lanka's batsmen struggled to pace their innings despite making good starts.

Hashan Tillekaratne, in his 200th match, was top-scorer with 31 off 52 balls.

Avishka Gunawardene, Marvan Atapattu, Kumar Sangakkara and Kaushal Lakuarachchi all chipped in but failed to build substantial partnerships.

Sangakkara, fresh from back-to-back centuries, was caught in the deep for 25, while trying to step up the scoring.

The 10th wicket pair of Charitha Buddika and Prabath Nissanka then added a potentially crucial 25 runs in the last few overs before Streak finished things off.

Sri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Avishka Gunawardene, Marvan Atapattu, Kumar Sangakkara, Hashan Tillekeratne, Kaushal Lokuarachchi, Kumar Dharmasena, Prasanna Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Buddhika Fernando, Prabath Nissanka.

Zimbabwe: Heath Streak (captain), Craig Wishart, Douglas Marillier, Grant Flower, Dion Ebrahim, Gavin Rennie, Tatenda Taibu, Sean Ervine, Andy Blignaut, Raymond Price, Douglas Hondo.
