Shah, who hit 46 against Australia in the Super Six phase of the World Cup is unavailable for the trip, according to Kenya Cricket Association chief selector Asif Padamshi.

The 30-year-old is one of Kenya's most experienced players, having taken part in 42 one-day internationals.

Kenya will also be without two more experienced players when they take on Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Veteran off-spinner Asif Karim and Alpesh Vadher, who both came out of retirement to play in the World Cup in South Africa, have decided to quit again.

Alfred Luseno and Maurice Ouma have been drafted into the squad from the under-19 team and strike bowler Jimmy Kamande, who was dropped for the World Cup, has been recalled.

Nipun Patel has been named manager while the UAE has agreed to loan their coach, Abdi Ali, to the Kenyans for the duration of the tournament.

Sandeep Patil, who took Kenya to a shock World Cup semi-final, declined to re-negotiate his coaching position after the tournament.

Kenyan, who were drafted into the tournament with Zimbabwe when South Africa pulled out for security reasons, will leave for Sharjah on Tuesday and play Zimbabwe in their first match on 5 April.
