All Blacks star Doug Howlett has been ruled out of New Zealand's Commonwealth Games rugby Sevens team because of a hamstring injury. The 27-year-old picked up the knock during the Auckland Blues' Super 14 loss to the Crusaders on Saturday. New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens said the winger would not be able to train for up to 10 days, with the Sevens event to be held on 16 and 17 March. "It is disappointing for Doug because he was really excited," said Tietjens.
