Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds were eager to preserve their 100% record, both to further stamp their authority on the competition and to ensure they have the hammer - the right to throw last - in Monday's semi (18:05 GMT) and in whichever medal match they find themselves in on Tuesday.

The British duo will have another chance to do both of those things when they conclude their round-robin matches against Italy at 18:05 - live on the BBC.

That was a nice match and the Swiss can celebrate finally. Great Britain suffer their first loss in this round robin, it doesn't affect their qualification but that one will hurt.

That's a first defeat for Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds, who are already through to the last four.

Here comes Jen Dodds with GB's final throw. What can she do here?

She's trying to curl it onto the button, but it clips a yellow stone and it means Switzerland have the chance to grab two here.

Time-out for Switzerland, who have the hammer in this final end.

As things stand, GB have one red stone right on the centre of the button. It's sandwiched slightly between two yellow Swiss stones.

They've got two stones left to throw, while the Brits have one.

If Switzerland score one in this final end to level the scores at 6-6, then we will have an extra end.

If it comes to that, the team that scores first wins the game.

It's two for Great Britain and they edge in front for the first time against Switzerland.

This last end will be interesting. Switzerland have to go all in here if they are to keep their semi-final hopes alive.

Switzerland are planning a take-out on their penultimate stone, but it hasn't worked.

They hit the red British stone right on the nose, and it stops right there rather than drifting closer to the button, which was the desired effect.

    Speed skating - men's 5,000m final

Another medal will be handed out at the Milan Speed Skating Stadium today with the men's 5,000m speed skating final about to begin.

Unlike the mad dash of the short-track speed skating, the skaters go off in pairs and in separate lanes in the longer event and it is a time trail.

Czech Republic's Metodej Jilek is one of the big favourites for gold but we've got a while before he's on the ice. He goes in the ninth of 10 pairs.

Bruce Mouat calls for a time-out to try and work out what the best plan of attack is here.

The house is crowded, with one GB red stone sandwiched between two yellow Swiss ones on the button.

They're likely to get one stone when the end finishes, but they want more.

In the men's 10km+10km skiathlon, Team GB's Andrew Musgrave came 10th in his fifth Games - just short of his best Olympic finish of seventh in 2018 - with fellow Briton Joe Davis 16th.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed," Musgrave told BBC Sport after the race.

"I felt like it was so fast on the first section and straight away I was struggling - it was hot and I was overheating.

"My chances of a good finish were over after the first lap."

A light-hearted moment between GB's Bruce Mouat and Switzerland's Yannick Schwaller as the pair gently clash heads.

"Sorry," says a smiling Mouat, who was caught stone-watching as Schwaller tried to sweep the British stone out of the way.

Those of you who’ve watched curling before might be wondering why the four-foot ring around the button is green rather than the usual red.

Well, turns out it’s a nod to the local Ladin population, with white, blue and green being the colours of their flag.

It is a steal! Switzerland, despite having the hammer, can't split the two red GB stones at the centre of the house.

Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds are back level with the Swiss pair after five ends.

    Three more to go...
