He came through a rain-affected four-set win over American Emilio Nava on Wednesday and next he will play third seed Alexander Zverev, who was beaten in last year's final.

The German has won all six of their previous meetings at tour level, although Norrie was only beaten in a fifth-set tie-break by Zverev in the last 16 of this tournament two years ago.

Norrie is scheduled to be on court at about 07:30 GMT on Friday and you'll be able to follow that match with us.

Also on Friday - in the very early hours UK time - top seeds Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka are in third-round action.

Asked if Cirstea complaining about Osaka pumping herself up between the Romanian's first and second serve was a problem, the 16th seed replied: "I think so, but like she could have asked me."

Two-time Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner, speaking in his on-court interview: "Every match is very difficult so I'm very happy to be in the next round. I was returning well, my serve was really good, so I'm happy with my performance.

"I feel like I'm in good shape at the moment. Depending on how matches go and how long I stay on court, we will decide the work to do the next day. I know how much work I've put in so the body feels good and the mind is in a good moment.

"It is a very special tournament for me and it has been a special court for me in the past years, so let's see what's coming this year."

On trying to add more variety to his game, he said: "Drop shots on the backhand side we still need to work on because some don't arrive at the net. We are working on that. We try to prepare every match in the best possible way. I am happy with where I am but we will keep pushing.

"I think we all know who has the best drop shots [on tour], it's Carlos [Alcaraz] of course. There are some great talents who are in front of me in that aspect."

On facing Eliot Spizzirri next: "I've been watching him also last year a little bit, very aggressive on the court and a big server also. I don't know him as well because we haven't played yet but I'm hoping for a great match."
