That is all from a very long day three.

What a day we have in store tomorrow as Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Selby and Kyren Wilson are among those in action.

Don't miss it. We'll be up and running at 13:00 GMT.

    Until then, bye for now.

  2. Zhang edges out Wilson in final-frame epicpublished at 00:33 GMT 2 December 2025

    Wilson 5-6 Zhang

There was drama too on table two as, for the first time in this year's tournament, a deciding frame was needed with China's Zhang Anda scraping a 6-5 win over England's Gary Wilson.

Twelfth seed Wilson made breaks of 58, 52, 65 and 91 as he held a 5-3 advantage, but Zhang, who made a maximum 147 break in this tournament last year, recovered well and took the last three frames to seal the victory.

Zhang now plays reigning China's world champion Zhao Xintong after he gained a 6-1 success over compatriot Long Zehuang in Monday's afternoon session.

Well played Scott. I had the pleasure of working with your dad for years. He was ever so proud of you and your career. You done him proud tonight!

World number 52 Scott Donaldson gained one of the best victories of his career as he beat eighth seed Mark Allen in a late-night finish on day three of the UK Championship.

Donaldson, whose father Hector died aged 70 on 2 October, was in tears as he walked to the arena before the match as the song he chose, Babylon by David Gray, was one of his dad's favourites.

The 31-year-old Scot had caused a big shock as he fought back from 5-0 down to defeat former world champion Stuart Bingham 6-5 in the final qualifying round and Donaldson maintained that form at York Barbican.

He led former world number one Allen 3-0, with the Northern Irishman, who won this tournament in 2022, pulling one back before the mid-session interval.

But in a match full of long, tough frames, one of which lasted an hour with another around the 50-minute mark, Donaldson managed to keep nudging closer to victory, before sealing a 6-1 success.

    Allen 1-5 Donaldson

Is that Mark Allen's last shot in this tournament. He misses a brown and Scott Donaldson, 15 points down with 22 on the table, is four pots from victory.

    Wilson 5-5 Zhang

Zhang Anda is 35-0 up and at the table. This looks like a match-winning opportunity.

I am really enjoying these champs but scores seem low. Not many centuries yet at all? Is this right? It certainly feels low scoring so far.

    George, York (as it happens)

Mark Allen is so boring to watch and makes every game scrappy and safe and doesn't want to pot anything, I bet the players hate to play him, it takes three days.

    Sam, Peterborough

I used to like watching Mark Allen but, in recent years, his games all tend to be scrappy affairs and boring. Now, I always hope he loses.

    Dave, Dagenham

  9. Wilson-Zhang goes to a deciderpublished at 23:07 GMT 1 December 2025

Allen 1-4 Donaldson, Wilson 5-5 Zhang

We go to a decider on table two. 5-5, the winner of the next frame faces world champion Zhao Xintong.

It is still only in frame six on table one and 4-1 to Scott Donaldson against Mark Allen in a frame that is now past 48 minutes after an earlier one took an hour.

If this one goes the distance we are all going to be here at 5am.

  10. Zhang takes frame nine to keep hopes alivepublished at 22:47 GMT 1 December 2025

    Wilson 5-4 Zhang

Trailing 35-58 but at the table, Gary Wilson had a pathway to the finish line, only to then miss a long red. That enabled Zhang Anda to mop up the rest and leave it at 5-4 to the Englishman.

But Zhang keeps himself in the tournament, for now.

  11. Stone Cold Steve Davispublished at 22:35 GMT 1 December 2025

    Allen 1-4 Donaldson

You won't find this shirt on sale at the official merchandise stand at the York Barbican, but all credit for this wrestling/snooker fan's choice of T-shirt for the evening.

Steve Davis, one of the game's legends, is on TV commentary for the Mark Allen v Scott Donaldson match.

"If only," is the Nugget's reaction when he sees the top.

And that's the bottom line, 'cause Davis said so.

  12. Postpublished at 22:28 GMT 1 December 2025

    Wilson 5-3 Zhang

Gary Wilson holds a 30-0 lead, but Zhang Anda has one last chance to save himself and has an open table to look at.

  13. Donaldson restores three-frame leadpublished at 22:17 GMT 1 December 2025

    Allen 1-4 Donaldson

Scott Donaldson is inching closer to a huge upset on day three. He now leads 4-1 against Mark Allen, two frames away from a superb victory.

It is another lengthy frame and one both players had chances to win, but it goes the Scot's way. Remember, six is the winning line.

  14. Wilson one away after wonderful clearancepublished at 22:11 GMT 1 December 2025

    Wilson 5-3 Zhang

A majestic, free-flowing brilliant clearance of 91 from Gary Wilson, the highest break of the match, has the Englishman 5-3 up against Zhang Anda and one frame away from a last-16 tie against world champion Zhao Xintong.

  15. Postpublished at 22:07 GMT 1 December 2025

    Allen 1-3 Donaldson

Is that going to prove to be a pivotal moment? Scott Donaldson had a chance to pot a frame-winning green ball, but misses into the middle. That was for 4-1.

Frame five is now at 37 minutes, still well short of the hour one we saw earlier on, and Donaldson leads Mark Allen 64-43 with them on the yellow.

No one is going to dominate snooker. Xintong is good, but to dominate he will have to start winning a lot more tournaments more often than the likes of Trump, Wilson, Robertson etc. Not to mention the class of 92, Selby… Not going to happen. Top player yes, multiple world champion, yes. Dominate? No way.

    Tom, London

  17. Wilson back in frontpublished at 21:55 GMT 1 December 2025

Allen 1-3 Donaldson, Wilson 4-3 Zhang

It's another lengthy frame on table one and both men will be kicking themselves if they don't take it. Scott Donaldson was 48-0 up, but let Mark Allen in and he made 39 before he missed a rolled red into the middle.

Donaldson leads by 24, but there is still 35 on the table.

Meanwhile, a break of 65 from Gary Wilson has seen him nudge 4-3 in front against Zhang Anda on table two.

  18. Get comfortablepublished at 21:34 GMT 1 December 2025

Allen 1-3 Donaldson, Wilson 3-3 Zhang

You would be brave betting on the two winners of tonight's action. Mark Allen and Scott Donaldson are back after the mid-session interval with Donaldson 3-1 up, while it has just gone 3-3 on table two in the match between Gary Wilson and Zhang Anda.

One thing that is looking certain though, is it is going to be a long night.

    Allen 1-3 Donaldson

Mark Allen will not be happy with these stats from the opening four frames.

You would expect big improvements in the rest of this match from the former world number one.
