Council leader calls for WRU board to consider positions
Swansea council leader Rob Stewart has called for the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) board, including chief executive Abi Tierney, to consider their positions after it was confirmed Ospreys owners, Y11 Sport and Media, were in line to buy rivals Cardiff.
Following meetings with WRU and Ospreys officials, Stewart warned the Y11 proposals threaten both the Ospreys' heritage and the long-term future of the sport in Swansea.
He is urging Welsh rugby's governing body to pause and rethink its approach.
