  1. 'I'm proud of the effort'published at 22:32 GMT 6 December 2025

    FT: Scarlets 16-17 Bristol

Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel talking to Premier Sports:

"It was bitterly disappointing in the end. We played well in some good patches and really put them under pressure with a couple of disallowed tries early on.

"Towards the end there were some key moments with a couple of lineouts in their 22 that we didn't convert. Conversely they had one and converted, and that's the game at this level.

"I am proud of the effort, we really prepped well and the level of performance was good, it's just that key moments we need to improve.

"The boys will be gutted after that loss but the important thing is that we recover well and make sure we are ready for the next couple of weeks.

"The two disallowed tries in the first half were a bit of a killer with the momentum swing. It's disappointing but we will learn our lessons and move on."

  2. 'I love the fight, we had to hang in there'published at 22:23 GMT 6 December 2025

    FT: Scarlets 16-17 Bristol

Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam speaking to Premier Sports:

"It was exactly what we expected. I said to the boys that technically and tactically we know what we are going to do, but when you go to Wales you are going to get nothing for free, we would have to fight and earn everything.

"The pitch was quite heavy and fair play to the Scarlets, we saw what they did last week (when beating Glasgow). They have some quality players and knew we would have to really work hard.

"I love the fight, we had to hang in there. We've got that win and now we go hard next week against Pau."

  3. 'You must win your home games as a starting point'published at 22:13 GMT 6 December 2025

    FT: Bath 40-14 Munster

Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan speaking to Premier Sports:

"You want to start games well. It was a big game for us playing an opponent that is very emotional with a lot of travelling support.

"We want to get our strengths into the game and our conversion rate in the first 20 minutes was good we had four opportunities and scored four tries.

"If you want to go further in the competition you must win your home games as a starting point. We did really well in the first half. We take our lessons from each game and move on."

  4. 'Something special in the group'published at 22:07 GMT 6 December 2025

    FT: Bath 40-14 Munster

Bath wing Joe Cokanasiga speaking to Premier Sports:

"We know there’s something special in the group, we talk about it every week but it’s one step at a time.

"Everyone wants to win the Champions Cup and that’s our aim this year but it's one step at a time and keep believing in ourselves.

"In the wind, rain, snow, they’re (the fans) always there and it always sells out and it makes a big difference we appreciate it."

    Scarlets 16-17 Bristol

Scarlets have no option but to keep playing with the clock in the red just outside their 22.

Bristol spread in defence and keep them pinned in as the hosts go side to side.

The ball goes loose and it's all over. Bristol can't quite get their fourth try for a bonus but they take the spoils.

With Pau at home next week, that's a huge victory for Pat Lam's side.

Scarlets are now in a pickle - they have to travel to both champions Bordeaux-Begles and runners-up Northampton.

Could consolation bonuses be important for the west Walians? They'll need to beat Pau in Llanelli in round three.

Terrific carry by Fletcher Anderson from the scrum but Bristol spread their defence and Blacker is forced to box kick.

Could he have done anything else? Perhaps should have kept it in field rather than putting it out for a lineout.

Bears need to win the lineout and keep the ball... but it's stolen!

  7. 'Great result'published at 22:01 GMT 6 December 2025

    FT: Bath 40-14 Munster

Bath captain and man of the match Ben Spencer speaking to Premier Sports:

"Unbelievable. I don’t know where it came from in those conditions the first 20 was one of those days where you're better off without the ball but we managed to get a few tries early doors.

"This tournament is the best in the world it’s going to take a hell of an effort but we're going to take it one step at a time. It's a great result today and a massive game against Toulon next week.

"We’ll enjoy tonight and there's a few lads who’ve probably never been to Toulon before so what an occasion what an atmosphere that will be."

Thacker hits his man at the lineout and Bristol drive towards the line.

Scarlets hold firm to win the turnover but they are five metres from their line with just two minutes to go.

They need to somehow get at least 50 metres down field.

That Thomas moment of madness is costly.

Bristol get a drive going and win another penalty for side entry.

Bears opt for the corner to kill the clock and go for what could be a bonus-point try.

    Scarlets 16-17 Bristol

Bristol are a little too ambitious in their own territory and Scarlets will have a chance to put the pressure on around 40 metres out.

It's tense and feisty out there.

In fact, there is going to be a TMO review of home prop Henry Thomas catching Jake Woolmore high with a clearout, which started on the chest.

Low force so just a penalty but it denies Scarlets the chance to attack and instead it's a Bears penalty.

That could be costly. Bristol go down the other end with just five minutes to go.

    Incredible stuff.

Scarlets put the pressure on to try and force a penalty but Harry Thacker gets over the ball to win a penalty.

Bristol go quickly from around 35 metres from their own line and work to the Scarlets' 22.

There's then another turnover after Springboks hooker Marnus van der Merwe plays a vital role at the breakdown.

STILL in the balance! There aren't tries galore but this is a cracker.

    Try - Bath 40-14 Munsterpublished at 21:50 GMT 6 December 2025

    Ted Hill

A little bit of late magic to wrap things up for Bath!

Max Ojomoh starts it off before Finn Russell kicks to Joe Cokanasiga to power upfield.

A quick tap penalty from Ben Spencer gets the hosts in behind and he finds Ted Hill who dives over to the glee of the home faithful.

Length of the field stuff and we finally have some second-half points!

Bath are defending well and not giving their opponents an inch.

Munster have seen lots of the ball but have not found any gaps at all in this solid Bath backline.

    Bath 35-14 Munster

Another magical touch from Finn Russell who makes difficult things look so easy.

He gets Bath on the front foot but once again it comes to nothing as the hosts lose the ball and Munster have a late chance to grab another score.

    Now or never.

Bristol hooker Harry Thacker is pinged for offside on halfway.

It's out of Joe Hawkins' range but he puts in a good touch-finder to the 22... but the throw is not straight.

Realistically, this is a must-win game for Scarlets. Can they get their noses back in front?

Wales Under-20s international Aidan Boshoff is on for his European debut. He was part of a very lively back three with Cardiff tyro Tom Bowen.

Who'd have thought that after that crazy first 40.

Joe Hawkins is called into the action by Scarlets boss Dwayne Peel and it's for Sam Costelow, much to the fly-half's displeasure.

He's miffed as he heads for the sidelines shaking his head.

Peel won't mind that, though. Your fly-half should want to be the one that gets the chance to be the match winner.

Finn Russell does what Finn Russell does - a brilliant 50/22 gives Bath excellent field position.

But Bath then lose the line-out!

Munster have it back again. They've had a lot of the ball but Bath have kept them at arm's length - so far.

Into the final quarter and this game is in the balance.

A bout of kick tennis as both sides attempt to avoid making a costly mistake in their own territory.

Ends with replacement centre Joe Roberts, a starter against South Africa last week, knocking on 40 metres from his own line.

Chance for Bristol to produce a starter play in the bid for the crucial next score.
