Ireland had 10 linebreaks in that half.

They only managed nine in two halves against Italy last week and four in Paris.

Intent and speed. They've been anything but guaranteed for Ireland recently. There's been plenty of both today.

Shambles from England again. Wow how the wheels have fallen off!

Italy will be licking their lips at the thought of playing this England team , 1st win against England in coming this year.

England started brightly but Ireland capitalised on some sloppy defending. Great half to watch and hope the second half is as good

That's a big score at a big time.

Ireland have poured an unbelievable amount of effort into this defensive effort.

Can they keep this level of ferocity in the second half?

How do you summarise that half? Four tries, a yellow card, four substitutions, an injury to the referee, a replacement referee. Anything else?

England were motoring. Marcus Smith does really well and Fraser Dingwall finishes it off.

I think every single player had a part to play in that passage. England were making it slightly difficult with the overlaps but that doesn't matter.

This game was screaming out for Marcus Smith. Instant impact with some lovely touches in that try.

Fraser Dingwall con George Ford (40 mins)

England have hope! Great work from new-boy Marcus Smith who draws a defender with a delayed pass and allows Fraser Dingwall to sprint into a gap and go over.

    George Ford's kick is solid.

England are back up to 15. And they steal Ireland's latest line-out back.

But what's this, Ireland steal the ball back and is forward Joe McCarthy about to run in an intercept-try?!

Nope, not this time. Replacement referee Pierre Brousset blows play back for an Ireland knock on.

England try something different with their line-out, shipping the ball back to the taker Jamie George, but he's forced into touch a few metres out.

You know it's bad when the crowd are ironically cheering a kick finding touch.

George Ford is not a happy camper.
