Sale Sharks have signed Fiji duo Ponipate Loganimasi and Elia Canakaivata on two-year contracts from next season.

Both winger Loganimasi, 27, and 29-year-old back-row forward Canakaivata will move to the Prem club from Super Rugby franchise Fijian Drua.

Canakaivata, who can play as a flanker or number eight, has played 20 times for Fiji, including all three of their Autumn Internationals in November.

"I'm excited about coming to play for a club like Sale Sharks in the Prem," he told the club's website, external.

"It's a great competition and a club with a lot of history and it's a great opportunity for me to experience something different."

The 6ft 5in Loganimasi was a member of the Fiji sevens team that won silver at the Paris Olympics in 2024 before being capped by the full national side after switching to 15-a-side.

"I'm so excited about coming to Sale," he said, external.

"It'll be my first time outside Fiji and I'm looking forward to playing in a new competition to learn and develop my game."

Loganimasi and Canakaivata are Sale's latest recruits for next season after previously signing England centre Joe Marchant and Wales props Nicky Smith and Tomas Francis.

They are currently seventh in the Prem but face Harlequins in the last 16 of the European Champions Cup in April.
