Welsh pair Morgan Morse and Harri Deaves have committed their futures to Ospreys.

The announcements come on the same day it was confirmed Wales captains Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake will leave the Swansea-based side to join Gloucester next season.

Back row forward, Morse, 20, won a record 24 Wales Under-20s caps whilst flanker, Deaves, 24, has made 53 appearances for the Ospreys.

The pair made their senior international debuts in the same game in November's loss against New Zealand.

Morse also appeared in Wales' record home defeat by South Africa seven days later but Deaves was ruled out by injury.

Ospreys have not revealed the duration of the new deals, but say both contract extensions demonstrates their "continued commitment to securing its brightest young talent".

"Morsey has a bright career ahead of him and is part of a strong core of young talent we have within the team, so it's a great moment for the club to have him re-sign with us," said Ospreys head coach Mark Jones.

"He is a player that is capable of some real X-factor moments and to be a successful side, you need players like him in your squad.

"Deavesy is someone that has already made his mark on the Ospreys and we're excited to see him build on that going forward. He has been an extremely consistent performer for us, and consistency is something we value highly at the club.

"He is the type of player that personifies what it is to be an Osprey - his effort, physicality and desire for the shirt, are all invaluable to us as a team," Jones added.

20-year-old Morse made his Ospreys debut in a United Rugby Championship game against Sharks in 2023.

He said: "This team means a lot to me and I'm really happy to be continuing at the club where my professional career began.

"There's a great group of boys and staff here who have all played an important part in my development. I'm looking forward to building on that going forward and helping the team in whatever way I can.

"I'm extremely happy to be staying with the Ospreys. This is the team I grew up supporting and have had the privilege of sharing the field with players that I looked up to in the early parts of my career.

"Coming here every day to work is a real privilege for me, I have made some incredible friends at the Ospreys and I'm excited to continue my development here."

24-year-old Deaves came through the ranks at Pontyclun RFC before making his Ospreys debut in 2022, scoring a debut try against against Sale Sharks in the Champions Cup.
