Tom Duncan has scored a try in eight of his last nine Championship appearances for the Pirates
Cornish Pirates coach Gavin Cattle has praised the focus of his side after they beat London Welsh 16-10 to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
Will Cargill kicked three penalties and Tom Duncan scored a try for Pirates.
The club were recently saved from going bust thanks to new investment from former owner Dicky Evans and a tie-up with the Chiefs Super Rugby franchise.
"As exciting as it is, we still know that we have to live in the now," Cattle told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"Nothing's going to immediately change for us.
"We've got a core of boys that care about the shirt, and with all this excitement that's gone on in the periphery you still need your core values and that's what we've got in bucket loads.
"People might think we're punching above our weight, but that's what sets us apart from other teams."
