Matt Cook: Castleford Tigers forward extends contract

Castleford forward Matt Cook has signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the Super League side until 2018, with a club option for a further year.

Cook made 29 appearances for Tigers in 2016 to help them finish fifth in Super League at the end of the Super 8s.

The 29-year-old signed from London ahead of the 2015 season, having also played for Bradford and Hull KR.

"I feel we'll be challenging for silverware and it's exciting times," Cook told the club website., external

"It feels really good to get my new deal nailed down. It's been a tough year for the boys with all the injuries but to finish fifth was great for us."
