Dragons sign Withington to cover injured Bowen

Dragons have added Ellen Withington to their squad for the upcoming Netball Super League (NSL) season after Ella Bowen was ruled out with an ongoing knee injury.

Covering wing defence and centre, Withington has joined Welsh netball's leading team as a permanent replacement.

She previously trained with Loughborough Lightning, but this is her first full-time contract at Super League level.

Dragons head coach Reinga Bloxham said: "We are gutted for Ella as we were all looking forward to working alongside her this season.

"We're thrilled to have Ellen join us heading into the season. With her enthusiasm and hard work ethic, I expect her to integrate seamlessly into the squad."

The NSL season begins on 27 February, with Dragons opening their campaign at Lightning the following day (14:00 GMT).
