  2. Tomorrow...published at 23:39 BST 5 September 2022

It's quarter-finals time on day nine of the 2022 US Open!

Up first on Arthur Ashe tomorrow is Italy's Matteo Berrettini up against Norway's Casper Ruud, before Tunisian Ons Jabeur's last-eight meeting with Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic follows that match.

American Coco Gauff and France's Caroline Garcia kick off the night session, before Australian Nick Kyrgios takes on Russia's Karen Khachanov.

Never mind the choice of leader of the Conservative Party, only one vote result matters today.

To mark her expected retirement from tennis, we've been running a vote over the past two days on Serena Wiliams' top 10 moments and the results are officially in.

Coming in top with 20% of the selections was Williams winning the 2017 Australian Open to overtake Steffi Graf's Open era record of 22 Grand Slams in singles. And of course we later found out that she did this while eight weeks' pregnant.

That just pipped her defying racist boos to win the Indian Wells title in 2001 (19%) with her London 2012 Olympics gold medal in singles in third place, selected by 14% of participants.

  4. Nadal, Alcaraz, or Ruud?published at 23:36 BST 5 September 2022

The race to become the new men's world number one is well and truly ON.

Daniil Medvedev's defeat by Nick Kyrgios yesterday means the Russian will lose his top ranking at the end of the tournament.

Following his loss tonight, Rafael Nadal, with no points to defend after missing last year's US Open, is still in the driving seat as it stands.

But Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud both now know a run to the final could see them become the new top ranked men's player!

    • Recorded the biggest win by an American man at the US Open since wildcard James Blake beat Nadal in the 2005 third round.

We will have to wait and see what Rafael Nadal's plans are for the rest of the season.

But two Grand Slam titles, and a 22-1 record at majors, represents a very good return indeed for a player who feared his career might be ended by injury in 2021.

Hopefully we'll get his thoughts from his press conference shortly.
