Well, what a match! That certainly lived up to expectations.

Wales clearly felt that game was one that got away, ruing their missed opportunities and some refereeing decisions which didn't go their way.

Their hopes of defending their Six Nations titles are effectively over.

But what about France? The renaissance continues.

Les Bleus have three wins from their first three matches, and they still have hope of winning a first Grand Slam since 2010.

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac has just been speaking at his post-match media conference.

He felt his side had enough opportunities to win the match, and he was unhappy about the decision not to sin-bin France lock Paul Willemse for an apparently deliberate knock-on in the second half.

"I think the officials may have got that wrong," Pivac said.

"The other frustrating one was when the French tight-head [Demba Bamba] came on and went straight across in the scrum and got rewarded for that."

France have been here and won a tough game. It is huge, it could really make this team.

They will be in that changing room now going 'wow, we all did it, everyone did their job'.

France defence coach Shaun Edwards: "It was a bit different yesterday when we came for the captain's run, I took one step the wrong way, nearly ended up in the wrong dressing room!

"It could have gone either way and fortunately we came out on the right end of the scoreboard. If we can improve our possession count we can be a real threat for winning the trophy."

On facing Scotland next: "The toughest game for Wales last year was Scotland away so we are expecting a real tough battle.

"It is having pride in the line, thankfully these French guys do. They looked pretty fit in the World Cup, there was a lot of progress made and it's been continued."

France have real cool decision-makers. At the end of the game I was worried for them when the young props came on. They are playing in the right areas of the field, they make you chase the game. They've had a little bit of luck and it's built a bit of momentum.

Momentum in the Six Nations is an important thing, especially when you're chasing a Grand Slam. They look to be in a good place with some super players.

Disappointing. It was a hell of a Test match, France just deserved it but Wales attacked very well and lacked composure at the end. The two talking points, one was the intercept and then I think it's definitely a yellow card and penalty try for the slap down.

A great Test match, you have to give credit to France because in previous encounters with Wales they have blown it, but saw it out today.

Wales coach Wayne Pivac: "It's disappointing the result didn't go our way. After half-time everything went to plan in terms of the momentum shift. We got back into the game and the intercept killed that momentum.

"A couple of key moments... the intercept, but the slap down in the tackle close to the line. I thought it was at least a penalty. The scrum penalty, you have got to scrum straight, on that occasion the tight-head didn't and got away with it.

"We have to make sure the big moments in the game go our way."

When you win against England and come and win in Wales... the Six Nations means a lot, this French team is growing up and they are building something special.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones: "The scoreboard says that, it felt a bit different out there, couple of telling opportunities we didn't convert.

"You make your own luck sometimes and we fell short on the scoreboard. It was telling, the 80 minutes, we gave them two penalties and they scored, two errors on our part."

On potential penalty try: "Was a case for a couple, one at the scrum, one for the tackle - you try and aid the referee, unfortunately couldn't do that today."

France came out for the second half and I thought they would tire and Wales would win - they handled it, that interception was huge. Nine and 10 showed huge maturity.

There's a bit of a scrap involving both sets of players after the final whistle. It eventually amounts to nothing more than a bit of pushing and shoving.

What a game, though.

Wales threatened to mount another fightback against France, but they left themselves too much to do.

Welsh hopes of defending their Six Nations title are all but over.
