So Ireland have made it four consecutive wins since losing the first test of their series triumph in Australia this summer.

Next week sees them host world champions New Zealand, who travel to Dublin off the back of a narrow victory over England at Twickenham today.

Speaking to Channel 4, Ireland's Peter O'Mahony said: "They never make it easy for us. They're a world-class side and they're always physical across the board.

"It was a great second half, we struggled to get rhythm in the first half but we earned ourselves penalties and a couple of tries from good, sustained pressure.

"We're going to have to improve across the board. We want to get better each week. We've got two good wins and a nice bit of momentum going into next week."

I think they deserved that victory. It's probably what they expected, a fairly tough Test.

Ireland stuck at it, there's a few guys who have had their first outing since June so it was a bit rusty at times but we'll see a vastly improved performance next weekend against the All Blacks.

That was not quite the performance that Joe Schmidt was looking for from his side. The Irish players lacked fluency and made far too many handling errors - particularly under the high ball, which is normally an area of strength.

It probably shouldn't come as such a surprise given that so many of these players stayed behind in Dublin last week when the rest of the squad were in Chicago.

It will, at least, dampen expectations ahead of next Saturday's match against New Zealand - right?!

No real debate over that last Sexton penalty. Ireland, with an eight point lead, would normally have opted for a lineout there but you get the sense that the players want to wrap this up and get back into the warm dressing-room.

Ireland bring the flare to the Aviva.

After a series of offloads and short passes, the hosts look to make themselves some room on the near side, but Argentina regroup and keep them at bay.

This has been a dogged defensive display by Los Pumas so far.

Ireland nearly breach the Argentinian line once more, but the visitors manage to turnover possession and kick clear.

Bundee Aki is receiving some treatment for what looks like a twisted ankle. He seems to have shaken it off as Johnny Sexton opts to kick for touch from a penalty.

Ireland have been banging on the door and Argentina have been hanging tough for so long but everyone's got their breaking point. Argentina's breaking point came later than we expected.

The Leinster fly-half adds the extras from in front of the posts.

Ireland punch through under the posts, but substitute Dan Leavy is adjudged to be held up. It's a 5-metre scrum to come.

Argentina are stepping up in defence with real speed but the Ireland battering ram rumbles on into the 19th phase. Surely this level of defence cannot be sustained.
