2018 is done and dusted and Ireland have won 11 of their 12 Test matches.

A Grand Slam was followed by a first series win in Australia for 39 years in the summer.

The seven-point victory over New Zealand last weekend will give the Irish confidence of achieving their best finish at a World Cup in Japan next year.

The 'Men in Green' will return to action in February when they start the defence of their Six Nations crown at home to England.

    ...I can't wait already!

Lovely, tidy finish for the end of the game, Garry Ringrose has really come into the game in the last 10 minutes, he's set the platform for the forwards.

It's great hands from the forwards and means Ireland finish with a bit of a flourish.

When Garry Ringrose does that you know that something's on, most of the time no one in the stadium can see it.

He's excellent at identifying space when there's nothing on the outside, he puts on the flash then puts Conway in for his hat-trick.

    Andrew Conway

Ireland winger Andrew Conway makes it a memorable hat-trick of tries, but this was all about Garry Ringrose.

The centre finds a gap in the tiring USA defence before putting his foot on the gas, but he unselfishly passes it to Conway with the try line at his mercy.

Joey Carbery kicks the extras as Ireland reach 50 points.

    Ireland 43-14 USA

    Michael Morrow
BBC Sport NI at the Aviva Stadium

This is a scoreline that flatters Ireland and is pretty harsh on the USA, whose forwards are now officially knackered having been well and truly dominated at scrum time in the second half.

It feels unfair, then, that Ireland introduce two of their big beasts from last week, Josh van der Flier and Cian Healy, to their pack for the closing stages.

The visitors are into damage limitation mode.

  13. No try - Ireland 43-14 USApublished at 71 mins

The try is chalked off as Cian Healy's pass in the build-up is adjudged to be forward. Let off for the USA.

    Ireland 43-14 USA

The USA defence is being run ragged in this second half.

Their attack is being thwarted by some huge Irish hits as well, and Will Holley has the wind knocked out of his sails by Garry Ringrose.

    Ouch.
