So that's it from us this autumn. It's been a compelling four weeks, just a year out from the next installment of the World Cup.

The northern hemisphere sides appear to have closed the gap on defending champions New Zealand, and it sets up a fascinating 10 months before kick off in Japan.

A Grand Slam was followed by a first series win in Australia for 39 years in the summer.

The seven-point victory over New Zealand last weekend will give the Irish confidence of achieving their best finish at a World Cup in Japan next year.

The 'Men in Green' will return to action in February when they start the defence of their Six Nations crown at home to England.

So Ireland have claimed an autumn clean sweep after three impressive victories over Argentina, world champions New Zealand and the USA at the Aviva.

Joe Schmidt's men also recorded a 54-7 win over Italy at the start of November.

When Garry Ringrose does that you know that something's on, most of the time no one in the stadium can see it.

He's excellent at identifying space when there's nothing on the outside, he puts on the flash then puts Conway in for his hat-trick.

The Ireland winger is announced as the man of the match after his hat-trick.

USA put a few phases together against the run of play but they are tackled into touch and Ireland have the chance to heap more pressure on the visitors once more.

This is a scoreline that flatters Ireland and is pretty harsh on the USA, whose forwards are now officially knackered having been well and truly dominated at scrum time in the second half.

It feels unfair, then, that Ireland introduce two of their big beasts from last week, Josh van der Flier and Cian Healy, to their pack for the closing stages.

The visitors are into damage limitation mode.

The try is chalked off as Cian Healy's pass in the build-up is adjudged to be forward. Let off for the USA.

Ireland are starting to show some flair in their backs' moves but Andrew Conway knocks on inside his own half.

The USA run it up the middle from the resulting scrum but Ireland win it back again.

The USA defence is being run ragged in this second half.

Their attack is being thwarted by some huge Irish hits as well, and Will Holley has the wind knocked out of his sails by Garry Ringrose.

Ouch.

Ireland are being very efficient in their defence, and they are winning turnovers almost at will in this half.

The ball is kicked to touch and Ireland can launch another backs move from deep inside the USA half.

Ireland continue to apply the pressure on the USA, but the men in white win the penalty and clear their lines. Line out to the visitors.
