That 94th-minute equaliser from Birmingham's Ruby Mace at West Ham means it remains incredibly tight at the bottom, with five sides separated by four points.

West Ham were going ninth before Mace volleyed home - instead they have to settle for climbing above Bristol City on goal difference.

No changes at the top with both Chelsea and Manchester City winning. I get the feeling Manchester United must beat Arsenal tomorrow if they want to keep it a three-horse race.

Brighton sneak into sixth with their 2-0 win over Villa.

    • The Women's Super League top two both eased to victories as Chelsea comfortably beat Everton 3-0, while Manchester City also hit three past Bristol City.
    • A late Birmingham City equaliser denied West Ham a first win in six games in all competitions.
    • And there was also a win for Brighton at Aston Villa. That's three victories on the bounce for Hope Powell's side.

It's been a pretty good night for Chelsea football club to be honest.

    West Ham 2-2 Birmingham

Unsurprisingly, Ruby Mace's equaliser was just about the final kick of the game.

Delerium for Birmingham, dejection for West Ham.

    Ruby Mace (90+4 mins)

    Oh. My. Days.

What an unbelievable end to the game! Into added time of added time too.

Birmingham had never looked like scoring an equaliser until in a last desperate attempt Sarah Mayling swung a cross in from the right and Ruby Mace appeared unmarked at the far post to volley in from six yards.

    West Ham 2-1 Birmingham

That's 90 seconds negotiated by West Ham without alarm. And they take further sting from the game by making a substitution.

All over in the West Midlands. Not a classic but Brighton's players don't seem to care.

Three valuable points are heading back to Sussex.

That's win number 10 in a row for Manchester City. Never in doubt to be honest.

Six successive clean sheets for Gareth Taylor's side too.

    West Ham 2-1 Birmingham

Into the final five minutes in Dagenham. What do Birmingham have left in the tank as they chase an equaliser?

They've barely threatened in the second half.

  15. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:22 GMT 17 March 2021

    Bristol City 0-3 Man City

Three minutes added on. Manchester City keeping the ball without any drama.

    Sam Mewis (88 mins)

Another brilliant save from Sophie Baggaley, this time keeping out substitute Janine Beckie.

But Sam Mewis is running in and is able to head the ball into an empty net.

    Game, set and match.

    Bristol City 0-2 Manchester City

Less than five minutes remaining here.

That West Ham goal incidentally means the Hammers are moving off the bottom at the expense of Bristol City in the WSL as-it-stands table and up four places to ninth.

    It's that tight.

  18. goal

GOAL: Aston Villa 0-2 Brightonpublished at 21:12 GMT 17 March 2021

    Inessa Kaagman (80 mins)

Brilliant penalty from Inessa Kaagman. Right in the corner, out of Lisa Weiss' reach.

Brighton are going up to sixth.

  19. PENALTY to Brightonpublished at 21:11 GMT 17 March 2021

    Aston Villa 0-1 Brighton

    This could finish things...

What is Villa keeper Lisa Weiss thinking as she slides in from behind on Brighton forward Ellie Brazil?

Brazil had her back to goal. She was going nowhere.

  20. CLOSE!published at 21:11 GMT 17 March 2021

    Bristol City 0-2 Manchester City

And now Caroline Weir goes close with a shot from the edge of the area blocked by a wall of red.

It's when not if Manchester City score a third.
