    • Bolton are denied their first league win of the season by a late Sunderland penalty - they're up to -9 points after a 1-1 draw.
    • Oxford thump Lincoln 6-0 at Sincil Bank, with Tariqe Fosu's hat-trick the highlight of their outstanding display.
    • With Coventry not playing, Ipswich are the new leaders after their 1-0 win at Gillingham.
    • Portsmouth are beaten at Wycombe, who are third in League One. Adebayo Akinfenwa's late penalty settled things at Adams Park. Pompey, beaten in the play-offs last season, are only just outside the relegation zone.

    • Swansea miss the chance to go top and take advantage of Leeds' earlier draw as they are held to a goalless draw at Bristol City.
    • Preston are up to third as they hold on for a win at Birmingham City, while Nahki Wells' double at Millwall sees QPR go up to fourth place.
    • Cardiff win 1-0 courtesy of an early own goal by Middlesbrough's Ashley Fletcher.
    • Garry Monk just about continues his unbeaten start in charge of Sheffield Wednesday with a 1-1 draw against Fulham, thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser.
    • Nottingham Forest's good form continues as they see off Barnsley 1-0 at home, while Hull are big winners on the road at Luton, winning 3-0.
    • Stoke climb off the bottom with a draw at Brentford for just their second point of the campaign.
