There is one other game in the WSL this afternoon as Bristol City host Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as several Women's FA Cup fourth-round ties going on - keep track of all the results here.

  2. City two points clearpublished at 15:03 GMT 10 February 2019

    Manchester City 2-2 Chelsea

The draw moves Manchester City two points clear at the top of the Women's Super League but that will be of little consolation to Nick Cushing's side right now.

Ji So-yun's late leveller for Chelsea could well have delivered a fatal blow to City's title aspirations given second-placed Arsenal have two games in hand, plus a superior goal difference.

Well, what a wonderful advert for the Women's Super League that was.

It finishes 2-2 and it could easily have been 7-7.

Regardless, Chelsea have come from two goals down to keep their slim hopes of retaining the WSL title alive and deliver a blow to Manchester City's own championship aspirations.

Chelsea's Drew Spence hugely fortunate to avoid a red card for a blatant bodycheck as City threaten to hit them on the break.

    Not long left now.

Both sides going for the winner here, there's no settling for a point.

Five minutes of injury time must be played so there's still time.

Turns out Kirby's miss didn't matter.

Chelsea are awarded a free-kick 20 yards out and Ji So-yun doubles her tally for the game with a deflected strike that loops into the top corner, leaving City keeper Karen Bardsley helpless.

Kirby will be breathing a sigh of relief. City's Nikita Parris - who has missed two gilt-edged chances to wrap this game up - will not.

  7. CLOSE!published at 88 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

    Was that the chance?

A loose ball drops to Fran Kirby eight yards out, She strikes her volley well but it's too close to Manchester City keeper Karen Bardsley who beats it away.

    That looked being the equaliser.

  8. CHANCEpublished at 83 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

Erin Cuthbert produces a pair of superb crosses for Chelsea.

No one is able to meet the first but the second picks out Fran Kirby. However, she misjudges her volley and sends it well wide.

Six minutes plus stoppage time to go. You suspect Chelsea will still get another chance.

  9. CLOSE!published at 79 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

If City end up winning this, they will owe a big debt of gratitude to central defender Jen Beattie.

The Scotland centre-half has just thrown herself in the way of goalbound shots from Ji So-yun and Beth England, within seconds of each other, to keep City's lead intact.

  10. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

Since going 2-0 up, Manchester City have wasted a series of chances to made their afternoon a lot more comfortable than it is proving to be.

They may yet get more chances as Chelsea leave gaps at the back in their push for an equaliser.

The visitors have made a second change, and it's another attacking substitution as Ramona Bachmann replaces Sophie Ingle.

  11. Deja vu!published at 74 mins

Oh dear! Nikita Parris is again clean through.

And again she misses in an almost identikit version of her earlier chance.

She puts it wide of the same post from just inside the area with only Chelsea keeper Hedvig Lindahl to beat.

How important are those two misses going to be?

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

As per usual on a Women's Super League weekend, England boss Phil Neville is in attendance today - and some of the players on show will have given him food for thought as he continues to plan for this summer's World Cup.

Georgia Stanway is one of the players who will be hoping to board the plane to France and the Manchester City striker did her cause no harm with a superb finish in the first half here.

Some of the defending on show, however, might have given Neville a few palpitations.

The Lionesses this week announced their World Cup warm-up schedule - find out who, when and where they are playing here.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

Here's the change we expected as Chelsea bring on striker Fran Kirby. She replaces England teammate Karen Carney as the Blues seek an equaliser.

  14. CHANCEpublished at 60 mins

    Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

Wow. That should have been the fourth goal of the game right there - and Nikita Parris will wonder how it wasn't.

Jill Scott's through ball carves Chelsea apart and Parris is clean through.

The WSL's all-time top scorer beats Hedvig Lindahl but also the post as her finish slides agonisingly wide.

Another huge moment in a game that has been full of them.

That goal, unsurprisingly, has given Chelsea a new lease of life. They are keeping the pressure on City now.

Perhaps goes without saying at 2-1 but the next goal is massive here. If City get it, it's game over. If Chelsea equalise, you sense they could go on and win it.

Exactly what Chelsea needed. An early second-half riposte.

Just moments after Weir struck the woodwork for City, Chelsea counter, the hosts fail to clear a bouncing ball in the box and South Korea midfielder Ji So-yun sweeps home from eight yards.

    Anyone's game now.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 48 mins

    Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea

    Almost goals at both ends.

First Chelsea spurn a big chance to pull one back, Drew Spence firing straight at City keeper Karen Bardsley from 12 yards after Beth England's shot was blocked by Steph Houghton.

Then City almost seal the points on the break as Nikita Parris finds Caroline Weir but her shot is superbly tipped on to the post by Hedvig Lindahl.

An amazing save as the keeper was going the wrong way. How important could that be?
