Blackburn Rovers goalscorer Joe Nuttall told Sky Sports:

"It was tough because coming here is always going to be hard with the fans on your back and Millwall really put it on you.

"[On his goal] The last touch was mine. I'm delighted and hopefully I can get more this season.

"It was a tough game against two big lads at the back but I fancy myself against anyone so it's about doing what I can do."

Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan told Sky Sports:

"It was a very big test. They've won four on the bounce. The first half was a battle and our substitutions made a difference.

"We haven't had many clean sheets so it's a brilliant all round performance.

"We just wait and see, we take each game as it comes. We've got three points here and against West Brom so we keep moving forward and not look too far ahead."

Caretaker Nottingham Forest manager Simon Ireland saw his side do themselves no favours as they ended up with nine men in a 2-0 defeat by Reading.

Ireland was in charge of Forest after Aitor Karanka's departure on Friday and was far from pleased with the ill-discipline throughout.

"I was disappointed to concede the first goal and also when we went down to 10 men and then nine men," he said.

"For an experienced player like Danny Fox to get involved in an argument, when already on a yellow card, was disappointing.

"He was a bit naive.

"Both Danny and Tendayi Darikwa have apologised to both myself and the other players in the dressing room.

"It was just a bad day today, but we are more than capable of getting back into the play-offs."

A Millwall corner sails deep at the far post and is half-cleared by Blackburn but Ryan Tunnicliffe works onto it unmarked.

However, he buries his shot well over the crossbar.

Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya has been fantastic tonight and he's just reacted quickly to make another fine save.

Reading picked up a much-needed victory against managerless Nottingham Forest as Jose Gomes tasted victory for the first time since taking over at the Madejski Stadium.

The 2-0 win against a Forest side who finished with nine men moved the Royals up a place and to within two points of safety.

“I liked the result a lot. The performance could maybe have been better, but the most important thing is that we got three very, very important points," Gomes told BBC Radio Berkshire.

“This is the start of a very important run of 19 games for us and hopefully this gives us the confidence to look up the table and ask ourselves why we aren’t there.

“Today the players really absorbed my philosophy with some important energy, they accepted the idea that we must be more clinical.

“Now it’s a case of keeping that focus, resting up and recharging before the next very, very important game.”

An attacking change for Millwall.

Bottom-placed Ipswich won for just the third time this season as they edged out fellow strugglers Rotherham 1-0 at Portman Road.

Victory for the Tractor Boys moved them to within seven points of safety, but Paul Lambert's side had to weather a Rotherham storm for most of the second half.

"The first half I thought we were very good, really strong and worked the ball, but they made it difficult in the second half and I don't think there was two passes strung together," Lambert said.

"But the pleasing thing is we defended fantastic. The ball never (seemed to) come down. It was never out of the air, long balls you have got to deal with that and I felt we dealt with it really, really well."

Bradley Dack tries an audacious back heeled effort from close range but it's blocked at the last minute by the Millwall back line.

A sustained spell of Blackburn pressure is showing no signs of stopping so far.

A succession of Blackburn corners sees Tony Mowbray's side come within inches of heading their way into the lead.
