    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez speaking to Sky Sports on the late equaliser for Wolves: "These kind of balls you can do a little bit better, punch the ball. That’s it.

"It was not very clear watching the replay. It is something we have to defend better. We know it is England and people will come to the keeper.

"I was not happy with some decisions from the referee, but overall he was fine."

That last quote was Benitez responding to a question about the words he exchanged with referee Graham Scott at the end of the game.

The 21-year-old made the joint-most passes in the opposition half (31 with Salomon Rondon) and made the most tackles (six).

He also covered the most ground of Magpies players - 12.65km.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez speaking to Sky Sports: "We had to be strong enough defending the cross."

So basically when asked if he thought it was a foul on Martin Dubravka, he says his side should have done better defending the ball.

  9. 'We deserved the three points'published at 22:18 GMT 11 February 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden speaking to Sky Sports: "It’s difficult to put into words. I don’t know whether it’s a foul or not, it looked a foul from the bench. It’s just another bit of bad luck on our part. We deserved the three points but it wasn’t meant to be.

On goalkeeper Martin Dubravka’s role in the equaliser: "He is a top class goalkeeper; we win as a team, lose as a team and draw as a team, so there will be no blame at his door.

"We all have to take responsibility. Everyone has made mistakes throughout the season but we just have to stick together and get as many points as we can."

"We kept on going and got the draw in the end. We always believed in ourselves, we have some real good characters in the squad.

"Newcastle set up well and they frustrated us but I thought we deserved a point.

"We are improving, we still have some improving to do, but to show fight like that is encouraging."

  12. 'The referees must decide in a second'published at 22:12 GMT 11 February 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo talking to BBC Sport:

"It came late, but the performance deserved goals. We created situations but the final touch was not there. It is something we must improve and be more clinical. Credit to Newcastle they were so organised. Last minute shows the character of the team.

    Foul on the keeper?

"I didn’t see the images yet. I will answer this question in the press conference of course. I don’t judge the work of the referees because it is so hard. The referees are so well prepared and must decide in a second.

"We should have done better, but the effort in the last minute and the way they believed shows character. But we require a lot of improvement."

  13. Actually, let's take another look at thatpublished at 22:10 GMT 11 February 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

    Now then.

Having watched the replay and having a looked at the pics below, it seems as if Boly pushes his arms down on Dubravka's shoulders to prevent the keeper from getting much elevation.

In the two pics you can see ref Graham Scott [far right], who seemed to have a good view of the incident.

Apologies Martin for stating that was an error, it now looks like you were fouled.

  14. Another error from Dubravkapublished at 22:03 GMT 11 February 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

The usually highly-reliable Slovak has now made two errors which have cost his side points.

There was the poor attempt to save Son Heung-min's strike at Wembley and now it seems his decision to try to catch the ball rather than push it behind him has resulted in Newcastle missing out on three valuable points.

    Willy Boly

    They love a late one.

The ball is swung to the far post, and both Willy Boly and Martin Dubravka go for it.

The Slovak looks to try to collect the cross but instead Boly heads in.

The visitors protest that Dubravka was shoved but ref Graham Scott waves them away.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is furious with the decision, or was he furious with the time played - the assistant showed 'four minutes' but five were played.

The Spaniard's first time shot clears the bar.

That is his final piece of action ce soir as he is replaced by Javier Manquillo.
