Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "To arrive to Barcelona and compete at our best we need to have fresh legs, fresh minds, no injuries; to arrive in that way to Barcelona we need to rotate the squad of course. We have big respect for Barcelona.

"Barcelona is one of the best teams in Europe, and of course they have unbelievable players. It will be such a tough game. But we have belief that we can win."

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen scored Spurs’ first Champions League goal as a substitute since Roman Pavlyuchenko did so back in November 2010, also against Inter Milan.

Paris Saint-Germain have 50 Champions League wins in just 95 games; only Real Madrid (88) and Barcelona (93) have done it quicker.

Speaking to BT Sport, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: "The start was like what we expected, it was very wild and intense and they took all the risks. They scored twice by winning the second ball. We still had to stay in the game, but as soon as we had a bit of control, you saw the game wasn't decided. We tried everything but we didn't have enough clear chances. We had two or three promising situations but with one or two decisions they would have been.

"When a game starts like that it is difficult to gain confidence so it was never our game. Another little hurdle we had to overcome was the 500,000 disruptions in the second half and the referee still thinks he did everything right. We are one of the fairest teams in England but tonight we looked like butchers. We have to take the result but it still feels a bit rubbish and now we have to use Anfield one more time."

On the foul for James Milner's penalty: "I saw the penalty, it was inside the box but he didn't even give a foul. Then I saw the Marco Verratti foul and wow. We were not really good, but it was a tight game in a really important competition. We had five or six yellow cards which is crazy.

"It is our job to take it, but I am still a bit emotional about it. We will fly back and prepare for the derby. Then on the 11 December we have a proper final at Anfield."

After being told Liverpool can progress with a 1-0 victory: "Good. We will score a goal and then the final whistle will happen and we can go home."

I am still a bit confused by the last-game permutations for Liverpool but that's OK as Jurgen Klopp doesn't know either.

A 1-0 win against Napoli will send them through. A 2-1 win would not send them through. A 3-1 win would.

Napoli go though with a draw...

Jurgen Klopp says "tonight we looked like butchers" in reference to the reaction of many PSG players to many challenges.

It's another entertaining post-match interview. At one point he looks directly down the lens and says "we need Anfield one more time. I'm calling Anfield..."

It will be tough (to win at Barcelona) but the belief is so important. Now we have another tough game against Arsenal first, and we need to be ready again.

"The most important thing is to try and translate confidence to the whole squad. If you win it's a topic, people ask why you change if your performance was good?

"But sometimes when you win you have to do something to spark the team, to add fresh legs, to tell them we are all important it is not about the name but the collective."

On Moussa Sissoko: "His team-mates are so happy that the fans are now starting to show the love, we feel that. Yes there was a tough period for Moussa but I remember one day I hugged him when he was coming off and I told him you are going to be a success here.

"Now he starts to feel free and today he was key again, a key part of the success tonight."

The quality of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar was too much to handle. Liverpool contained them in the first tie, but they knew it would be tough tonight and they were difficult to get the ball off.

Speaking to BT Sport, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: "We are disappointed because we think we are good enough to come here and win. It wasn't our night in the end but we had the boost at half time and we kept going. Now we have just got to keep it in our own hands by winning back at Anfield."

On the foul for James Milner's penalty: "It looked clear to me. I wasn't sure the referee would have given it but the linesman did in the end. We didn't start particularly well, and they did, so we got punished. The reaction was good and we caused them problems right until the end, but it wasn't meant to be."

On PSG's theatrics and Marco Verratti's booking: "It looked quite high but I'm not really sure. In the moment it is fast and that is football. I'm sure we made a few as well. We now have another big game at Anfield and we can get through that and into the next round."

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti: "We have done our duty. I said it wasn't going to be a decisive match. We are at the head of the group so you have to be positive."

Tammy Abraham scored four times for Aston Villa in a 10-goal thriller but they could only draw against 10-man Nottingham Forest.

Forest had led 2-0 and 3-2 in the first half through Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho and Matthew Cash's goals but Abraham's first-half treble put Villa level at half-time.

Joe Lolley's long-range hit restored the visitors' lead shortly after the break, before Tobias Figueiredo was sent off and Abraham capitalised, heading in from Jack Grealish's free-kick to make it 4-4.

Villa then took the lead for the first time when Anwar El Ghazi curled in, but Grabban's near-post finish earned Forest a remarkable late point.

A home win for Liverpool in their final group game against Napoli will (probably) be enough to qualify.

Given how tough their group is they must have known that it may come down to that.
