Champions League semi-finals: Liverpool v Roma, Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

Video assistant referee: Premier League clubs vote against VAR for 2018-19

Liverpool will play Roma in the Champions League semi-finals, with Bayern Munich facing Real Madrid.

The Reds, who beat Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate in the last round, will host Roma on Tuesday, 24 April with the return leg on Wednesday, 2 May.

Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-finals, while Red Bull Salzburg meet Marseille.

The Gunners will play the first leg at home on Thursday, 26 April, with the second leg a week later on 3 May.

The Europa League final will be in Lyon, France on Wednesday, 16 May, with the winner guaranteed a place in next season's Champions League.

The Champions League final will be held in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday, 26 May.

Chelsea

Ross Barkley is available for Chelsea at Southampton after recovering from injury.

His availability means that David Luiz and Ethan Ampadu, owing to respective long-term knee and ankle injuries, are their only absentees.

Gary Cahill is also expected to retain his place, having come in for Andreas Christensen for last week's 1-1 draw with West Ham.

West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes on will Javier Hernandez start on Monday after his goal at Chelsea and partner Marko Arnautovic: "It's great to have competition for places, options and choices - which we haven't had - so we'll make a decision and decide if it's a game for one for both or just one of them."

On will Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and James Collins feature on Monday: "Andy's in training. He's not played for 11 weeks. We'll monitor him and see how he is.

"Manu Lanzini and James Collins have also been out, but getting Andy back will be a big plus for us because we all know what he can do. Is he going to be ready? I'm not sure.

"Manu and James have both done some training today. I'm hoping there is a good chance they'll be involved on Monday."

West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes: "We want to get 10 wins. We've got eight, so we need two more.

"The magic number is 40 points. We don't have enough, but the performances we've put in the last two games have given everyone a real lift.

"If we can keep the form going. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't aim to go unbeaten until the end of the season. That should get us enough points to stay up.

"It's a similar game to Southampton in what it means to both clubs. If the crowd help us rise to the same level, hopefully we can get the win again."

Thomas James: Jose Mourinho on West Brom saying its a 'big challenge'. Too many niceties in modern football. Be nice for managers to take a leaf from boxing and simply say it how it is. Say that we are overwhelming favourites and aim to win 5-0 or so.

Leicester City

Leicester manger Claude Puel: “Vicente Iborra has a hamstring injury. I don’t think he will be available for the rest of the season.

“Burnley are team that improve a lot every year. They have found a good maturity in their play and a good consistency.

“It is an important match and we have to play with the right attitude. We need to find a good start in our game.”

Premier League clubs have voted not to use the video assistant referee (VAR) system for next season.

The clubs agreed that advanced testing on the use of the video technology will continue to the end of 2018-19.

Premier League officials want the system to be implemented for FA Cup and League Cup matches again next term.

There were some notable high-profile problems with the new technology when it was used for matches in this season's FA Cup.

In Manchester United's victory at Huddersfield in the last 16 of the FA Cup, for example, on-screen lines used to adjudicate on an offside decision were curved and distorted.

Clubs also want improvement to communication inside the stadium and for TV viewers.

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez: “The reality is that Arsenal is one of the top sides in English football. Very good players, very good manager with great experience. If I say they are favourites, I am not playing games. I have confidence that we can beat them.

“We have to approach the game in the same way as we have the last games. The same intensity - from the first minute to the last minute.

“Everybody has been training, so it’s good news. It’s always important to have competition, but then you have to leave some players out of the squad.

“I don’t want the fans to relax. I want them to keep pushing and supporting like they have all season and enjoy it. The relationship between players and fans has been key. The team is stronger. They can play better.”

“We are winning, everyone is fit and sometimes you don’t need to change. The players are working hard. At the moment, they are fine. It was a really good training session today. I’m really pleased with the players.

“Forty points is the mark. We are closer than before, but still, two points will be the key and the mark we are aiming for. If any players has any doubt, I will put another player on the pitch.”

Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg is available for Saturday's home game against former club Watford.

Hogg limped out of last week's draw at the Amex Stadium after Davy Propper's tackle, which earned the Brighton midfielder a straight red card, but returned to full training on Wednesday.

Boss David Wagner has no new injury or suspension worries as the Terriers chase their first win in six, while Elias Kachunga, Danny Williams (both ankle) and Michael Hefele (knee) are still out.

Watford manager Javi Gracia: "The next game against Huddersfield is a very important match for us - and for them. I don't feel they need the points more than us.

"Never mind the situations they are in, I prefer to prepare the next game as I usually do, and do it always in the best way we can.

"I am confident we will be able to score and get points in the next game.

"The situation would be more difficult if we don't create chances, but my feeling is that we create - even in away games - and we must try to score and do better each time.

"I prefer to think positively because we create chances to score."

Crystal Palace

Strikers Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth face late fitness tests before Crystal Palace host Brighton.

They have returned to contention following respective groin and hamstring injuries, but while Jeffrey Schlupp is nearing a first-team return following an ankle injury, the Brighton fixture will come too soon.

Joel Ward, Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham remain long-term absentees.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on being surprised West Brom are in the relegation zone: "I am surprised, the quality the experience of many of the players, the stability of past years is a surprise for me they find themselves I this position.

On the challenge facing West Brom: "Big challenge because they know in football anything is possible until mathematically is possible. They still smell a chance but every match if they don’t get points are closer to relegation, but in our case we come from a big result and during the week was trying to fight that result by working hard and trying to make players understand not enough to deserve to finish second, need the points to finish second – need four points for fourth, for second more than that and after three important points last weekend we have to try to do these three."

Manchester United

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he does not need another striker to offer more competition to 26-goal top scorer Romelu Lukaku up front next season.

Also when asked about Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, the Reds manager says there is nothing he can do to keep players happy, and someone has to miss out starting every week.

Everyone other than goalkeeper Sergio Romero is fit for this weekend's game.

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom temporary boss Darren Moore has said striker Daniel Sturridge ‘could’ be in his squad for Sunday’s game at Manchester United.

Sturridge joined West Brom on loan from Liverpool in January.

However, the England forward has made just three appearances totalling 80 minutes since he moved to the Hawthorns.

His last appearance came against Chelsea on 12 February when he suffered a hamstring injury after four minutes.

Moore said Sturridge returned to training this week.

"Nacer Chadli and Sam Field are back in training. Sturridge is back in training too which is excellent for us. All three are quality players. They could all be part of the squad," said Moore.

West Brom are bottom of the table, 10 points adrift of safety.

They will be relegated this weekend if they lose and Crystal Palace, Huddersfield and Swansea all win.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed striker Sergio Aguero will miss tomorrow's trip to Tottenham.

The Manchester City manager said: "After action from Ashley Young (last Saturday) he could not train.

"After Tuesday's game said he couldn't run.

"Hopefully he will be ready for last games and World Cup."

The City boss also confirmed defender John Stones is still injured.

Midfielder Fernandinho is suspended.

Chelsea

Danny Drinkwater won the Premier League title with Leicester in 2016, but has made only 12 league appearances to date this term.

Conte says the 28-year-old is having an unlucky season due to injuries, but he is "a good midfielder" who he fully trusts.
