That brings an end to our coverage of the celebrations, but they'll continue for some hours yet in Wolverhampton.

They'll seal the Championship title with a point at Bolton on Saturday, while Birmingham will continue to look over their shoulders going into their final three games.

We're back for the next Championship action on Friday, when it's an all-London affair between Millwall and Fulham.

In the forefront of Wolves' minds throughout the season has been goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July 2017.

Wolves and its supporters have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity while the club's longest-serving player has been receiving treatment.

What Carl's going through is not easy for anybody – hopefully he can get through it, get back playing and doing what he loves

I'm sure Wolves fans won't tire of seeing this anytime soon.

As you can see above, their side can now only be caught by Cardiff City, who are 12 points behind with four games left to play.

If the Bluebirds drop points anywhere - or if Wolves get one more point from their last three games - the title is theirs.

From a Blues perspective, it was always going to be a tall, tall order to come here today - especially after Wolves were promoted last night. You've seen why they've won promotion here. They've been asked questions all the way through the season, they've answered them and fair play to them.

That second half was a bit of a non-event but Wolves have a regulation victory to mark their promotion to the Premier League.

Diogo Jota and Benik Afobe scored, while Birmingham had Harlee Dean sent off and drop to 21st on goals scored.

Birmingham miss a chance at one end and Wolves punish them at the other...

Lukas Jutkiewicz has an effort saved by John Ruddy, when he should've passed, and then Wolves substitutes Alfred N'Diaye and Benik Afobe link up for the latter to dink over David Stockdale.

That's surely the points wrapped up and Wolves will need just a further point for the title.

One of the curiosities of Wolves' triumphant season has been the goal drought which suddenly inflicted Brazilian striker Leo Bonatini after reaching early December as Championship top scorer on 12 goals.

His last strike was the winner in Wolves' 1-0 win at St Andrew's. And, having come on as an early sub for he injured Cavaleiro today, he must have thought he was set to end that sorry run when he got clear in the Blues box.

But the hand which David Stockdale stuck out to stop him must been agonising.
