  2. 'We have a chance at top four'published at 19:55 BST 28 April 2018

    FT: Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalscorer Cesc Fabregas, speaking to BT Sport: "We started well, created chances and had control of the game. We were comfortable but the last five, 10 mins of the first half but then we struggled a bit and then came back into it. Same again in the second half.

"We know every game is a final for us. We have an opportunity to finish in the top four. We have to show our pride and that we really want to make it happen. The bad things is it's not up to us but we have to put the pressure on."

  3. 'We deserved a little more'published at 19:52 BST 28 April 2018

    Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

    Swansea City

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal, speaking to BT Sport: "We played against a strong team.

"After putting more players in attack we had chances to win the game. We had a penalty, in my opinion.

"In general, we played with quality with the positions that we have. We have emotional control, because we move the ball and never play long balls.

"We try to move the ball right, left, but it's not easy against Chelsea because they are a strong and physical organisation.

"We deserved a little bit more, but the performance gives us confidence."

Swansea had more territory and possession but could not make it count against a resolute Chelsea, who were dangerous on the counter attack.

  5. 'We've put some pressure on Spurs'published at 19:46 BST 28 April 2018

    FT: Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking to Match of the Day: "We started the game very well and dominated the game in the first half. But you must be very good to kill the game and you have to take the chances otherwise you risk your opponent trying to push.

"We were very good defensively and it's important for us to take three points with a good win. Now we have three games to go and have to win for our fans, for our work and then we'll see what happens.

"The big problem that we are having this season in many games is that we create many chances to score but we don't take them. If we want to fight for something important you must be clinical.

"If you don't kill the game then it's normal for the other team to push. Our expectation was to play a tough game against a good team looking to avoid relegation.

"They only way that we have to put a bit of pressure on the top four is to win. Today has been very positive to put that pressure on Tottenham. Football is not simple and anything can happen."

David: Swansea deserved a point out of this game.

Louis: Chelsea’s top four hopes revived by two horrible penalty decisions today.

Nokeeroe: It’s very bunched up now in the relegation zone.

  7. 'This commitment will mean we stay up'published at 19:40 BST 28 April 2018

    FT: Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

    Swansea City

Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal, speaking to Match of the Day: "We did a very good performance and I'm happy with my players and the fans. We tried to move the ball quicker in the second half.

"We were frustrated with the score but are happy with the attitude of the players. We must continue this momentum about the performance in the last three games.

"If we play with this heart and commitment we will get the points to stay in the Premier League.

"It's not easy to play against a team like Chelsea who have good organisation. But we created chances and had chances to win. But because the shot was a little near the post, because of their keeper we don't achieve the goal I think we deserve in the game.

"When I arrived we were five points off at the bottom but we've progressed and fight to stay in the division. We must believe in ourselves because if we do we don't need to worry about the other teams."

Sho: Swansea deserved to lose that. Only decided to play in the last 10 minutes. Were pathetic before that.

Paul: I like how the players waited 80 minutes to make this game interesting.

  10. Postpublished at 19:32 BST 28 April 2018

    Chelsea

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill, speaking to Match of the Day: "Massive three points for us. We've got to try and win every game until the rest of the season.

"We knew it was going to be difficult and it proved that way. In the second half they gambled and pushed men forward but we saw out a clean sheet.

"We were looking for the second goal but didn't take our chances. It was a great finish by Cesc and maybe their confidence was a bit knocked by that early goal.

"I've no idea what happened with Jordan Ayew. I played the ball back to our keeper and then it felt like I got hit by a bus. He barged straight into the back of me. If I overreacted then I apologise.

"The teams above us don't slip up and give up many points but let's keep winning and see what they do."

    Good news, West Brom fans.

Swansea's defeat by Chelsea means the Baggies have avoided relegation. For now, at least.

They are five points behind the 17th-placed Swans with two games left to play. Swansea have a game in hand, though.

Horrible challenge from Jordan Ayew, should have been sent off. The most interesting moment of an utterly forgettable game.

  13. 'Disappointing for Swansea'published at 19:23 BST 28 April 2018

    FT: Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

Obviously disappointing for Swansea, especially with Southampton getting the win earlier. But when you come up against a top team like Chelsea you cannot give away a goal so early, and even though they gave it a go in the second half, it was a comfortable win for Chelsea in the end.

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 19:22 BST 28 April 2018

And that bad-tempered clash between Jordan Ayew and Gary Cahill is pretty much how the game ends.

Jon Moss blows his whistle - Swansea miss out on vital points and extend their winless run to six matches.

The Swans are still out of the relegation zone, but now just one point above Southampton.

Chelsea move two points behind Spurs in fourth.

    Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

I think Jordan Ayew has left a little bit on him there, he's just given him a shove as he's ran past.

    Swansea 0-1 Chelsea

Gary Cahill is caught late by Jordan Ayew, who absolutely clatters into the back of the England defender.

Jon Moss stops play, thinking Cahill has a head injury but it's his shoulder that's the problem.

Cahill gets up to confront Ayew and tempers flare between several players on both sides.

And then Cahill falls down to waste time.
