"I have to say I feel sorry for Everton.

"In the second half they got themselves back into the game. A point each would have been a fair result.

Birmingham City hold on for their first WSL 1 win of the season.

Everton were all over the hosts in the second half, and will be frustrated to still be pointless after two matches.

Everton with a big chance to level the scores!

At the end of a quick counter-attack, Simone Magill gets a weak shot on goal.

Magill's first touch contributed to her being pushed wide on the right, and she can only scuff an effort into the arms of Birmingham goalkeeper Frances Stenson.

Hosts Birmingham City are trying to slow this game right down now.

They have done a good job of upsetting the tempo of the game as Everton were getting on top of things.

With just 10 minutes remaining, Everton are pressing hard for an equaliser.

Everton's defence, which looked so fragile at times in the first half, has stood firm since the break.

Birmingham have been restricted to trying pick off attacking scraps on the edge of the area.

It has been a remarkable turnaround for the visitors who have looked the better side in the second half.

What a start to the second half from Everton.

Substitute goalkeeper Frances Stenson hadn't even touched the ball yet, before Chloe Kelly smartly dinks the ball past her to reduce Everton's deficit.

Birmingham City with their second change, and it is goalscorer and forward Charlie Wellings who makes way for midfielder Abbey-Leigh Stringer.

Big, big chance there for Everton.

Courtney Sweetman-Kirk gets on the end of a chipped pass from Claudia Walker, but the striker just can't get enough on it to really trouble goalkeeper Frances Stenson. The teenager calmly gets down to her right to clutch the shot.

Everton make their third and final change, and it is goalscorer Chloe Kelly who makes way for Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah.

It is another attacking switch, so they are chasing this game in a big way now.

On-loan Arsenal striker Chloe Kelly has been a real bright spark for Everton in the second half. Her influence extending well beyond that crucial goal.

Claudia Walker, who was the second top scorer in the WSL 2 Spring Series, has also had a big impact since coming off the bench.

Everton have now made two second-half changes, Olivia Chance comes on for Megan Finnigan.

Earlier, Claudia Walker replaced Marthe Munsterman, who looked to be flirting with danger in the first half with a yellow card.

Everton looking much brighter now.

That early second-half goal from Chloe Kelly seems to have done the trick.

Goalkeeper Frances Stenson came on to replace Ann-Katrin Berger at the break.

The experienced keeper took a heavy knock late in the first half. It certainly proved a costly injury in the end.
