Right. So while Ronaldo was working out what to do with his pen, it was all happening on the touchline.
Villarreal coach Fran Escriba was understandably incensed after it appeared that Bruno could not get his arm out of the way when the ball span up and hit it, and was cautioned by ref Jesus Gil Manzano.
Sub Roberto Soldado, equally angry, was shown a yellow card by Manzano, who might expect a warm farewell when he leaves the Estadio de la Ceramica later on.
