Norwich were 3-2 up heading into injury-time at Newcastle on 28 September but went on to lose 4-3.

A win that day would have sent them top but they now languish in ninth, 13 points behind the Magpies.

That's Norwich's seventh loss in their last nine Championship matches, and until late in the second half you could see why.

The performance was fairly flat, and they rarely troubled Danny Ward in the Huddersfield goal.

With chants against manager Alex Neil's decision to take off Nelson Oliveira things are not looking rosy at Carrow Road right now.

Huddersfield salute their supporters with a 'Dortmund-like' wave.

The Terriers fans will be pretty happy with their choice to spend this Friday night around Christmas in Norfolk, rather than around the shops.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy on Sky Sports: "The gameplan was to frustrate them because they're a good footballing side. We did that well tonight."

They had to hang on in the end, but Huddersfield move up to third with a victory thanks to two goals from Elias Kachunga.

For Norwich, they remain in ninth place in the Championship and Alex Neil is still under pressure from the fans.

Sebastien Bassong is genuinely playing as a centre forward right now, but his knockdown to a long ball forward is to nobody in a yellow shirt and rolls out for a goal kick.

Oh my! Sebastien Bassong again on the end of a corner, but his header from around six yards out is just wide. And I mean just.

A waste of a ball from Robbie Brady goes straight into the hands of Danny Ward.

Alex Neil looks on as his side are losing a match against promotion rivals at home.

  12. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Norwich defender Sebastien Bassong is seeing a lot of the ball in the opposition area, this time heading a corner tamely into the palms of Danny Ward.

Huddersfield are just beginning to show signs of nerves at the back, though.

  13. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Aaron Mooy goes into the referee's book for bringing down Steven Naismith in the Norwich half, using up more precious time.

  14. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Norwich fling another ball into the box, this time towards Steven Naismith, who flicks on to Sebastien Bassong, but the defender doesn't get a touch on the ball when it looks like he could get a clean shot away from six yards out.

  15. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

A beautiful flowing move by Norwich, one of their first in the game, finds Jonny Howson on the right-hand side of the box and his low cross in looks to be falling to Jacob Murphy for a tap in, but Danny Ward gets his hand to it and Huddersfield clear.

It's just not happening for Norwich today. Even when they capitalise on a mistake from Jon Stankovic, Robbie Brady is completely crowded out by four Huddersfield players.

Martin Olsson then flings in a very overhit cross, much to the despair of the Norwich faithful.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Jonathan Hogg, a real workhorse in the Huddersfield midfield, has done his job today and is replaced by Philip Billing.

Hogg may have a slight hip injury, hence the change.

  18. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Jacob Murphy stings the palms of Huddersfield keeper Danny Ward with a curling strike from outside the area which the keeper was always going to keep out.

  19. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Cameron Jerome is throwing his weight around in the area, and nods down a left-wing cross to Steven Naismith, but the former Everton man can't quite reach the ball and the Terriers clear to safety.

    Norwich 1-2 Huddersfield

Aaron Mooy's free-kick delivery into the box is superb, but Sebastien Bassong is able to get a head to the ball and clear the danger.

Huddersfield subsequently make their first change of the night, bringing off Nahki Wells in place of Harry Bunn.
