That's all we've got time for. Southampton's 10 men had to work very hard for 36 minutes or so to hang on after Victor Wanyama's red card, but they did exactly that. West Ham will feel they should have done more, but credit to the Saints too - they put in one heck of a shift.

Five clean sheets are not the only impressive stats that Fraser Forster can boast this season - he has now saved all 14 of the shots he’s faced in the Premier League in 2015-16.

His record goes back to last season too: Forster’s clean sheet percentage is the best of any goalkeeper with 30 or more Premier League appearances (51.4%), with 18 clean sheets from his 35 games.

"That was a battling, backs-to-the-wall performance from Southampton. They dug in and kept their shape. 

"When they were forced to defend they dropped right back and kept the play in front of them, to stop West Ham breaking through and creating anything of note. They were well worth the three points."

So that's five clean sheets in five appearances for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster since his return to the team in mid-January after a long-term injury. He made one top-class save tonight, but West Ham did not really work him hard enough.

West Ham midfielder Mark Noble: "We tried everything - it just didn't drop for us. Another game we could have scored three or four, but it was a great three points for Southampton because they defended really well."

Talk about hard-fought, but Saints are up to seventh thanks to that victory. Two points and one place behind West Ham.

It's all over. Ten-man Southampton hold out, and are now five games unbeaten. They have won four of them.

The five minutes of injury time have been played.

West Ham have sent James Collins forward, and he appeals for a penalty when the ball hits Jose Fonte in the area. Nothing given, and time is running out.

Saints are still working hard to keep West Ham out but they almost shoot themselves in the foot when Cedric's attempted clearance flies just past his own goal.

I think it is fair to say that West Ham are getting desperate. Enner Valencia lets fly from the edge of the area but his shot sails a mile off target. Ten-man Southampton have got everyone back and there is just no way through.

"Virgil van Dijk is dominating Andy Carroll. And that's only a good thing for Southampton, because West Ham keep trying to float the ball up to their big striker."

Southampton's Jordy Clasie is booked for kicking the ball away at a free-kick to use up a few more seconds. Every second counts now for Saints as they hang on to this lead.

Lots of crosses from West Ham, but even Andy Carroll cannot do anything with them - they are high and not particularly accurate. Easy for Saints.
