    Derbyshire 154-1 (15.0 overs) v Leicestershire 619

At stumps on day two in this one, Derbyshire are 465 runs behind, but not giving in, as Billy Godleman's 60 has given them real hope of at least avoiding the follow-on.

    Worcestershire 108-2 (31.0 overs) v Northamptonshire 238

  5. Close - Surrey v Essex day onepublished at 18:32 BST 26 May 2017

    Surrey 334-7 (96.0 overs) v Essex

Thanks largely to Kumar Sangakkara's unbeaten 177, Surrey close on 334-7... A fine recovery from 17-4 and 31-5 this morning.

Division One leaders Essex began to toil in the field the longer a hot afternoon went on.

  6. Close of play - Durham all outpublished at 18:29 BST 26 May 2017

    Durham 342 (94.0 overs) v Glamorgan

Astonishingly, Durham lose their final four wickets for no runs, with three wickets falling in their final four balls.

Michael Hogan (5-49) is the happiest man in the Glamorgan camp as the players head to the dressing rooms.

Birthday-boy Paul Collingwood's 127 helped build Durham's strong score, but they'll be disappointed not to have reached 350 for a fourth batting bonus point.

  7. Sangakkara and Surrey smilingpublished at 18:24 BST 26 May 2017

    Surrey 332-7 (94.0 overs) v Essex

Meanwhile, at Chelmsford, where there are at least two overs remaining this evening, Kumar Sangakkara has now reached 175, from his 270 balls.

That's his highest score for Surrey.

Stuart Meaker is going well alongside him on 43.

  8. Close - Somerset trail by five runspublished at 18:21 BST 26 May 2017

    Somerset 157-5 (44.0 overs) v Hampshire 162

Trailing by five runs, Somerset will resume on Saturday morning on 157-5, after a fine day for them at Taunton.

Spinner Jack Leach's six wickets did the main damage to Hampshire's innings earlier, before Dean Elgar and Tom Abell helped put Somerset in a strong position, looking for their first win of the season in Division One.

  11. BIRTHDAY TON FOR COLLINGWOOD AT 41published at 18:02 BST 26 May 2017

    Durham 316-6 (91.4 overs) v Glamorgan, (Collingwood 106*)

How many times has Paul Collingwood come to Durham's rescue over the years? In the heat of Swansea and on a wicket difficult to judge, the captain has reached his 33rd century in first-class cricket.

It came in 158 balls. He's also put on partnerships of 60 with Cameron Steel and 91 with Paul Coughlin.

He scored 127 on his 39th birthday - that was on a similarly difficult pitch at Worcester. His runs in this one could prove vital.

    Nottinghamshire 342-5 (90.0 overs) v Gloucestershire

After his 21st career ton, Michael Lumb is out for 117.

But on 342-5 after 90 overs, Nottinghamshire are by far the happier side at Trent Bridge so far, having been put into bat by Gloucestershire this morning.

    • Nottinghamshire (334-4) are in control against Gloucestershire

    • Kent (285-7) may well be slightly happier than Sussex, in a fairly even game
    • Durham (282-6) have had a reasonable day at Glamorgan
    • And, on day two, Derbyshire trail Leicestershire by a sizeable 498 runs.
  17. Postpublished at 17:32 BST 26 May 2017

    Kent 281-7 (85.2 overs) v Sussex

Joe Denly has finally gone for 119, out lbw to Vernon Philander, after a magnificent knock.

But Kent are still looking pretty strong on this first day.

  18. wicket

    WICKET: Elgar (c Bailey b Dawson) 60published at 17:25 BST 26 May 2017

    Somerset 121-4 (30.3 overs) v Hampshire 162

With an outside edge, Dean Elgar goes for 60.

Thats a really important wicket for Hampshire - they badly needed that.

And you don't see many dismissals quite like this one - Elgar's outside edge ricocheted back off the wicketkeeper’s knee straight to George Bailey at short leg.

In comes Peter Trego for Somerset, who will hope for some better luck.

  19. 100 runs

    Nottinghamshire 316-4 (83.4 overs) v Gloucestershire

A wonderful day for Cheteshwar Pujara comes to a close as he is caught behind the wicket from Craig Miles' bowling for 112.

In his innings of 206 balls and 14 fours the Indian confirmed his status as a class act.

Michael Lumb has 97 and is nearing his own ton, with Riki Wessels at the other end.
