    Yorkshire are only 43 runs behind with Gary Ballance 35 not out, but the hosts will have a spring in their step after a poor batting display.

    Chris Rushworth gives Durham a tremendous boost late in the day as he bowls Alex Lees for 71.

    Rushworth now has 3-38. Nightwatchman Steven Patterson is the new man in with a few minutes to last.

    Kent openers Daniel Bell-Drummond and Tom Latham see out a tricky last six overs to go to stumps unscathed.

    But a truncated second day has been about Graham Wagg and Craig Meschede's seventh-wicket stand of 160 for Glamorgan which has put the hosts on top.

    Day one is over at Old Trafford, where skipper Steven Croft (82 not out) and Karl Brown's (41 not out) unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 105 has put Lancashire in a very decent position.

    I said Alex Lees was in need of some runs and he's duly delivered with a second County Championship half-century of the season to go with his one century.

    The Yorkshire opener gets to the milestone off just 56 balls and his side are now in a very strong position late in the day.

    They trail by just 88.

    Glamorgan 351 v Kent

    And there is the commentator's curse again as Mitch Claydon takes his fifth wicket to end the Glamorgan innings.

    The Kent paceman has Michael Hogan caught behind for 20 to finish with 5-106.

    Glamorgan's last-wicket pair Michael Hogan and Andrew Salter are piling on the runs against Kent.

    Their stand has suddenly shot up to 34 off five overs and another batting bonus point is earned in the process.

    I'm not quite sure what's happened to Lancashire pair Steven Croft and Karl Brown, but the runs have suddenly started flowing at Old Trafford.

    33 have come off the last five overs and Croft is up to 66.

    The bowling change has worked at The Oval as Surrey spinner Zafar Ansari gets some turn to bowl Steven Mullaney for 34.

    An absolutely magnificent catch by Keaton Jennings sees the back of Kane Williamson.

    The Durham youngster dives to his left at gully to snaffle the New Zealand batsman for just 10.

    Durham needed that after posting such a low first-innings score but they'll want to get rid of Alex Lees who is ticking along nicely on 32.

    Fifty for Steven Croft

    Lancashire 133-4 v Warwickshire

    It's not been the prettiest of innings, but it's been an absolutely crucial one for Lancashire.

    Captain Steven Croft brings up his half-century off 107 balls.

    He'll want plenty more though because another wicket or two would put the Red Rose county in a spot of bother.

    There will be no century for Craig Meschede either today as he nicks Calum Haggett behind for 78 a few overs after Graham Wagg departed.

    Kent have just pegged things back with the wickets of the two well-set batsmen.

  19. 'Proper cricket' at Old Trafford

    Steven Croft and Karl Brown have settled in for bed and breakfast in Manchester.

    The pair's fifth-wicket stand is worth 32 in 17 overs with the usually aggressive Brown scoring 12 off 57 deliveries.

    Skipper Croft has prodded his way up to 41 off 101 balls.

    Glamorgan 297-7 v Kent

    A terrific innings by Glamorgan all-rounder Graham Wagg ends as he edges Mitch Claydon to James Tredwell at slip for 83.

    The 33-year-old struck 10 fours and a six in his 120-ball innings and put on 160 with Craig Meschede for the seventh wicket.

    He gets a standing ovation as he leaves the field.
