Well, that's that for another Friday night of T20 Blast action.

Maybe not quite as dramatic at times as a Dimitri Payet late winner, but there were some impressive moments in there.

The competition continues throughout this week as well as the One-Day Cup. You'll be able to hear all the action from BBC local radio through the BBC Sport website.

Plus, we'll be back once again next Friday with another set of eight fixtures as the groups begin to take shape with this season's contenders.

England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan warmed up nicely for the coming one-day series against Sri Lanka with an unbeaten 59 at Chelmsford.

He hit 22 off the final over to push a sometimes stuttering Middlesex innings up to 173-8.

Essex floundered early in their reply as Middlesex's bowlers kept things tight.

Ryan ten Doeschate (58 not out) ran out of partners as Essex ran out of ideas and finished on 156-8.

Ross Taylor's 62 helped Sussex beat Kent in a low-scoring game at Hove.

Kent were bowled out for 140 with the final ball of their 20 overs as only Sam Northeast (53) could get going.

Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan both picked up three wickets for Sussex.

Sussex lost early wickets as they struggled to 68-4, but Taylor's half-century and two boundaries from David Wiese in the final over saw them to victory.

Colin Ingram's half-century helped Glamorgan to a comfortable victory over Gloucestershire at Bristol.

Chasing 169, South African Ingram made 64 and teenager Aneurin Donald hit a composed unbeaten 48 as the Welsh county reached 172-4 with nine balls to spare.

Gloucestershire's 168-8 saw several batsmen get starts but no one could go on.

Heavy rain saw the North Group match between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire called off without a ball bowled.

The umpires held out until 20:00 BST before abandoning the match.

Both sides took one point.

Rain breaks aplenty looked set to frustrate the Old Trafford crowd, but they were eventually treated to late flurry of runs.

Leicestershire had earlier posted 131-3 as a delayed start meant a reduction to 14 overs. Captain Mark Cosgrove was the mainstay with 66 not out.

Lancashire's reply was delayed by another rain break after just eight balls and then the equation to win was revised to 74 off seven overs.

Jordan Clark (31 not out) and Jos Buttler (20 not out) cleared the ropes and in the end, the defending champions made it look easy with five balls to spare.

Johann Myburgh (86 not out) finished just two short of his T20 highest score as Somerset beat Surrey.

The South African right hander shared an unbroken 87-run partnership with Roelof van der Merwe (39 not out) to guide Somerset to 189-4 with four balls to spare for their second win in four games.

Dominic Sibley's earlier unbeaten 74 was the platform for Surrey's respectable 186-4, but Chris Gayle's early big hitting soon made it look inferior.

Gayle may have only lasted 13 balls, but they included four sixes in his 31.

Birmingham Bears game against Yorkshire was abandoned because of rain.

The two teams did manage to have a toss, which Yorkshire won and elected to bowl first, but the rain arrived before the two teams could take to the field.

Ben Cox's unbeaten 42 off 24 balls helped Worcestershire to a dramatic last-over victory against Northants at New Road.

Needing nine to win off the last six balls, Cox hit the first two deliveries from Azharullah to the boundary before a single took Worcestershire to 170-7 and earned the North Group leaders their fourth win in five matches.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore also continued his fine from in the competition with 60.

Earlier, Northants made 169-7 thanks to Ben Duckett's 43-ball 50, while the leading wicket taker in the T20 Blast, Joe Leach, took 3-26.

Essex fall short in pursuit of 174 despite Ryan ten Doeschate's (58 not out) best efforts.

Middlesex claimed early wickets in the home side's innings and Eoin Morgan's unbeaten 59, which included 22 off the final over, went a long way to securing their victory.

A third defeat in four games for Essex and a second win in three for Middlesex.

With eight needed off the last over, David Wiese smashes David Griffiths over extra cover for four before finishing the game with a late cut to the third-man boundary.

It's Sussex's third victory in four as they move up to second in the South Group.

Pretty academic for Essex after Graham Napier fell to Mitchell McClenaghan in the penultimate over without scoring.

Ryan ten Doeschate reaches a 50, but there's hardly any applause from the partisan home crowd who know this one's up.

Wow. Chris Jordan now goes in the penultimate over, caught by Alex Blake to give Mitch Claydon his third wicket.

Sussex require eight off six balls with Will Beer and David Wiese at the crease. Not easy under extreme pressure and with two new batsmen at the crease.

Glamorgan have steamrollered their way to victory in Bristol and recorded their second win against Gloucestershire in limited-overs cricket in five days.

It's the Welsh county's third win in their last four T20 Blast games and fifth win in six in all one-day cricket this season.

Ian Cockbain and Kieran Noema-Barnett both his 37 runs as Gloucestershire posted a score of 168-8 from their 20 overs, despite Dale Steyn (2-21) and Graham Wagg (2-28) doing their best to peg them back.

But Glamorgan were carried by Colin Ingram's superb 64 and form-man Aneurin Donald's 48 as they eased to the win.

The quick wickets of Callum Taylor and James Foster have all but dashed Essex's hopes in this one.

Some have already made for the exits at Chelmsford - probably to down their sorrows with a few beers in the fine city.

This has turned into a bit of a stroll for Sussex in the last few overs.

David Griffiths starts the 18th over with a no-ball and Chris Jordan hits the resulting free-hit to the ropes.

Griffiths does well to make sure there are no more boundaries in the over, but 13 still come from it.

All over at Old Trafford after a couple of rain breaks and some revised targets.

Lancashire get home in the end with five balls to spare after they were given just 34 balls to score 63 runs.

Jos Buttler (20 not out) and Jordan Clark (31 not out) got them there in devastating fashion.

Jos Buttler biffs Clint McKay for six in the penultimate over and you sense that might be the momentum to get Lancashire over the line.

Jordan Clark also gets in on the act to virtually take it home.
